Went to Costco today for groceries and gas. $3.99 at the pump, 10-15 cents cheaper than other places but it was a OMG moment when I saw that 9.8 gallons cost me a total of $39.21. This was my old Subaru with 19-21 mpg. Glad I have a Prius too.
I can only imagine the totals on SUV’s and pick up trucks.

Real happy that Youngest’s new job comes with a work truck and gas card.

You are indeed lucky… if we had that price in CA, cars would be lined up around the block…
To wit: $5.19/gal, Reg, Costco, Tustin CA (Orange County)
CA has always been a cut above, because CA gas is ‘extra special’…
Getting ‘permission’ to borrow gas from neighboring NV or AZ during acute shortages due to refinery issues? I remember borrowing happening one time; during all other shortages? Suck it up.
