Shock and awe Gaza!
It won’t be as big a deal if we attack Iran. Just another day in paradise.
I am for attacking Iran’s nuclear capacity. Just looking for some transparency in TI.

I think Iran wins this contest. Right now they are telling their friendlier to the USA neighbors I told you so. Trump Resort Gaza sets back the US-Middle East relations way back.

Maybe an agreement was reached, Israel blows up Iran’s nuclear capability and Trump takes on Gaza….
I think he just wants the Gazans in particular Hamas to say it wants the Gaza Strip after all. After all isn’t it an open-air prison? Wouldn’t you want to leave it?
He is starting part of Israel’s negotiations with Gazans. If you do not like it then that is too bad it is your home. You are claiming it. Make more of it and stop the endless warring.
Reverse psychology from a madman.
TIG can’t negotiate. He just surrenders ASAP. Hamas would cut his hand off if he tried to grab anything.
So instead of the US taking over Gaza and rebuilding it, we read that
“Rather, Egypt was looking with other Arab nations at how to rebuild and clean up Gaza…”

Sounds like a much better deal.

lessee…TI cut off “foreign aid”, except for Israel, and Egypt. Think someone in Cairo will be reminded how much they are skimming off that US aid flow, that he would lose, if he doesn’t “play ball”?
Steve
Not enough.
Egypt doesn’t get nearly enough from us, even at over $1 billion a year, to make it worth their while to take in millions of Palestinians.
Additionally, most of the aid we give to Egypt is in the form of grants for the purchase of US manufactured military aid - which means essentially government kickbacks to the MIC. The MIC doesn’t want that aid cut off because it means reduced profits.
Depends on how much of that goes into El Sisi’s pocket. In the Shiny environment of today: it’s all about what you can stuff into your pocket. What happens to your company, or country, after you made your stack, does not matter.
Steve
Well, nobody wants the troublemakers. The point is that Egypt (“with other Arab nations”) is looking at paying for the rebuilding. That’s a lot of petrodollars.

Last I heard, the POTUS was planning to taking control of Gaza. Which is it?
And more importantly, which do you support?
I asked you this question previously (i.e. US troops in Gaza) and did not get a response.
I would be surprised if the US takes control of Gaza
My opinion is hardly more important, but I don’t support US troops in Gaza. The floating pier episode last year was a mistake, although it did expose the decline in US Navy maintenance (and I added to that thread just yesterday).

America will have the same luck rebuilding Gaza as they had in rebuilding Iraq. A total, unmitigated disaster. G.W. Bush took a flamethrower to American national wealth. Imagine if the resources we wasted in Iraq had been used in America instead.
If American troops are deployed to Gaza, they will annihilate any direct force that dare attack them in a conventional fight. But the “fun” starts when the occupation and rebuild starts. These people have been waging guerrilla warfare for generations, just like in Iraq. They are very good at it. They will not stop coming.
And if resorts are built, it is a near certainty that the truck and car bomb missions will kick off soon after the first guests check in.
Yeah, Trump, great idea, lets get started on the takeover of Gaza, lol.
Those resources were applied very successfully in 2022 by Biden.
As would I, but he sure seems committed - and of course damage can be done in the pursuit of such, even if we never end up with boots on the ground.
TI is negotiating
Or its his version of foreplay.
It only gets more bizarre
LOCK HIM/IT UP !!! And forget the key by flushing it.
I saw that piece on the wire too. That should settle the question about whether “ethnic cleansing” is the correct way to characterize the war in Gaza.
Steve
It never has happened. TI is just throwing his weight around.
Imagine Hamas keeps saying Gaza is an open air prison. But Hamas wants Gaza suddenly. I guess it is not an open air prison.
Usually people want to get out of prisons.
We need to remember to negotiate from a better position than, “Oh we won let’s compromise”. When the other side starts to think, “Oh they won but are now surrendering”. Seems to be the progressive solution for anything.
Or 'this is our land, but it is being run by forces beyond our control, as a prison".
