John Hopkins to cut 2000 positions

The bad news is that John Hopkins is eliminating 2000 positions. The good news is that only 247 of those are in the US. The university lost $365 million from the USAID.

On a side note my Sister was hired back by the VA today and had to pay her 2 weeks back pay. She told me it was nice to get her job back but the 2 week paid vacation wasn’t bad either.

^ This is an example government waste, fraud, and abuse. Instead of carefully examining which positions could be eliminated or combined, they simply slashed headcount without thinking.

Then they have to hire people back, with backpay, AND the work didn’t get done.

DOGE seems more interested in wasting tax dollars than saving them. But they get to do lots of grandstanding with our money, so that’s good, I guess.

What’s even worse is that she now realizes that with all the Chaos she no longer wants to work for the VA. Her job was shepherding veterans through the hospital system making sure they received the care they were entitled to, whether it was a doctor, surgeon, or psychiatrist. After she was fired she found out that many hospitals would like her to work for them for more money. But she will stay till April to not only get the 2 weeks paid vacation but the 5 year pension. Then move on.

But watch what happens to the VA when our troops start complaining about how bad the hospitals are once again. It’s great that a billionaire that will not fight and a President that got a deferment are the ones that destroy the healthcare for the Veterans. But at least they got what they voted for.

“JCs” in charge. TPTB got what they wanted from the vets: fighting the made up wars. Now they are no longer serving that purpose, they are expendable meat.

Yes, and while the “losers and suckers” did not hit home, maybe the actual loss of medical treatment might.
