I’m confused. Both headlines say (roughly) the same thing. Yeshiva University wanted to block an LGBTQ club. A lower court said they couldn’t. The first headline notes that SCOTUS has allowed Yeshiva to block the club; the second headline says the same thing, with the detail that the way SCOTUS is letting them block the club is by reversing the ruling from the lower court that said they had to allow the club.

What’s the issue?

Al,

Correct me if I am wrong. The group(s) can be blocked. The groups can sue for discrimination. It will cost the institutions that do this.

The groups can be blocked if the Supremes allow it. But the discrimination for monetary damages lawsuits can go forward is my question?

The court is not saying discrimination is legal.
