I had my free preventative screening colonoscopy under Medicare today. Stellar results – no polyps found, and I drank the whole gallon of bowel prep elixir and got a 9 out of 9 on the Boston Bowel Prep Scale – the photos are stunning.

I’m also getting a free COVID vaccine booster this week under Medicare. Since infections are up, the CDC has advised people over 65 to get the booster.

Free is good! It’s astonishing how efficient and easy health care becomes once you remove the $30 MM/yr health insurance CEO and the for-profit bureaucracy designed to frustrate and delay access to the health care you’ve paid for.

The only reason a “socialist” solution is allowed for geezer care is the insurance industry couldn’t make a profit off geezers, at a premium price that the vast majority of people could pay. Notice how far Paul Ryan’s proposal to make Medicare “premium support”, a voucher that would pay a small fraction of what a for-profit insurance company would want to cover 80 year olds, ever got?
