No idea but the majority of the crowd funding was US sourced. As part of the current measures of “Emergencies Act Invoked” they will be required to register with FINTRAC. Trucks belonging to companies that allow them to be used will be charged. Host of other stuff but I’m watching Trudeau’s speech AIT.

Ottawa Mayor and Police getting a ration of poop for failure to use the resources they have while asking for more.

So these guys were criminals not protesters.

The RCMP confirmed that a number of investigations and potential charges are open surrounding the arrests. One of the charges police are investigating is “conspiracy to commit murder,” said Supt. Roberta McKale while addressing media near Coutts, based on threats directed at officers.

“It came to a point where for the safety of the members and for the safety of the public, we certainly had to act and act quickly,” said McKale.

Is this the same guy who back in November 2020 was expressing support of a yearlong protest by farmers in India that blocked major highways into New Delhi?

The truckers in Ottawa made it clear that the bridge truckers were a different and separate group. I’m amazed and pleased by the good behaviour of the Ottawa truckers. At least four provinces have now agreed to drop the covid mandates and at least Quebec has said they don’t want the national emergency call to apply to their province because it is not needed.

Ottawa’s police chief resigned, I don’t think it was entirely his choice. He did nothing to stop the occupation from taking over the city center other than complain about not having enough police … while not using the ones he had. Time for the big boys to do the job.

Finding those guns at a so called “Peaceful Protest” was the straw that broke the camel’s back.

Public Safety Minister Marco Mendicino sought to assure Ottawa residents Tuesday that the chaos in their city will soon end as local law enforcement, bolstered by the RCMP, works around the clock to restore order.

Empowered by the federal government’s move to invoke the Emergencies Act, police will soon establish “no-go” zones in the city’s downtown core to control unruly crowds associated with the anti-vaccine mandate convoy protest, the minister said. People who defy orders to leave, he added, will face fines or jail time, or both.

To starve protesters of the money that supports their activities, banks and financial institutions will stop the flow of funds to all convoy organizers, he said.

The government is also threatening to suspend corporate bank accounts and commercial licensing for truckers taking part in the convoy.

The Emergencies Act is essentially deputizing RCMP officers to act as local law enforcement in the city. The federal police force typically does not carry out many policing functions in the province of Ontario. The RCMP will be charged with enforcing municipal bylaws and provincial statutes.
