During the Cold war Canada had four systems “capable of carrying nuclear weapons”. The warheads were in the care of the US military and would be delivered if tensions got high enough. We also had spare nuclear bombs for the US bombers stored in Goose Bay Labrador that would allow for a quicker turn around.
Meanwhile our current PM is emptying out the home forces to spread around to countries that share borders with Vlad’s Russia. He is also denting the budget to provide Ukraine with funds to keep the economy and necessary services operating. The good news is that both our Cons and our left leaning parties are onside with the spending increase. Our economy is in surprisingly good shape. Good news for my four indexed pensions.
