North America to Europe in One Footstep

Both Canada and Denmark have claimed Han Island (all 1.3 square km of it) since 1978. The island is located exactly halfway between Canada and Greenland. Since 1984 the Danes and Canadians have taken turns planting their respective flags on the island and leaving whiskey or schnapps for the other to find.

Well, the whiskey war is over! Han Island just got split roughly down the center with half going to each country.

Would it be nice if all ‘wars’ were settled in such fashion?

Of course Han Island has zero known economic value and few people have even seen the place except from an airplane over it. It makes a pretty good location check on radar if you happen to be in the area?
