I probably have to call Netgear about this, but am hoping someone here has experienced this.
Up until recently, we have always had two networks available to use with our Netgear modem/router:
Netgear34
Netgear34-5G
Suddenly the first one has disappeared.
The problem is that I have an app on my phone that will ONLY connect to that one. So the app will no longer work.
Any idea why that one would disappear all of a sudden from the list of available networks?
Thanks

Unplug your router and unscrew your cable to it. Wait for a few minutes or more and then plug both cables back in.
This is just a suggestion for a place to start. It might not change anything.
Turn the WiFi off and back on on your phone. Turn your phone off and back on.
Again, just something to start with.

I did that first suggestion. Trying the next couple now…nope.
I also opened a ticket with Netgear.
Thanks

Is your Netgear device still on the acceptable list of your cable provider? Sometimes gotta buy a new version. I had that problem. I do love my Netgear box. Modem and router all in one and not too expensive. Hardest part was changing the Wifi’s name to “Burp, Scratch, Fart”.
(I live in an apt and everyone can see all the nearby WiFi names, harhar)
It works fine in general.
They say it would be faster if I upgrade to docsis 3.1, but I’m not convinced. I have 3.0
Burp Scratch Fart, LOL! I didn’t know you could change the name of the network!
Which Netgear do you have and how much? Amazon link?
Thanks.
I believe it has gone up in price but this is the one: “previously purchased on August 23, 2022”. Been working like a charm ever since.
Netgear C6250-100NAS AC1600 (16x4) WiFi Cable Modem Router Combo (C6250) DOCSIS 3.0 Certified for Xfinity Comcast, Time Warner Cable, Cox, More (Renewed)
3.0.
If I buy a new one, I’ll get a 3.1 since Mediacom is recommending that I upgrade from 3.0
