Operation SIndoor

India launched Operation Sindoor in retaliation to the April 22 militant attack on Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, which left 26 civilians dead. The Indian government accused Pakistan of having supported the group that conducted the attack. So far, the response has consisted of missiles launched from Indian territory, striking 9 targets in Pakistan proper as well as the Pakistan-occupied parts of Kashmir.

India’s Defense Ministry notes that all the targets were part of a terrorist infrastructure, and that the strikes deliberately excluded Pakistani military sites. Even so, Pakistan’s prime minister has confirmed that retaliatory strikes are already underway against Indian targets.

An escalating war between India and Pakistan would make the Gaza war look like a tempest in a teacup.

No. India will not escalate, and they have taken pains to underscore they have only striked terrorist camps and not military targets. Having said that, Pakistan has over 120 active terror groups. All are trained by pakistani military using American taxpayer money and arms. So, if a war breaks out and India wipes out most of those terrorists, it is actually a gift to Pakistan. They have lost control of the monster they created. As usual West creates a mess and leaves it for others to suffer the consequence.

Fwiw, CNN headline this morning says they are on the ‚brink to a full-scale war‘.

I am not sure what news you are reading. So far, India didn’t escalate. Pakistan army is the big force in that country, bigger than their elected representatives. This is a serious damage to their reputation. So they will try something. If they do, India will retaliate.

If India wanted war they would not have stopped with the initial strike.

This could spin out of control really fast.

  • Pakistan said it shot down five Indian aircraft during the strikes, with confirmed reports of multiple jets coming down on the Indian side of the de facto border. India has not commented on the number of jets downed.

  • Pakistan’s prime minister Shehbaz Sharif called the airstrikes an “act of war” and added that Islamabad reserves the right to “give a strong response”.

Pakistan’s strong response will be countered by a stronger response from India.

Escalation, intensification, spiraling, what ever you call it, things are getting dicey.

Lot of fake news. The 5 jet shot down, various photos are debunked already. In fact the photo that you have shared in this story is specifically identified as a crash occurred few years ago.

My bad, it appears things are hunky dory over there. Nobody’s worried about escalation like they were 1week ago -

Good thing it’s a big nothing burger, it’s all just fake news. Besides, if something does blow up, we have super competent diplomats who are very familiar with Kashmir. Lots of Led Zeppelin fans in the administration…

Oh don’t be so theatrical. I specifically called the shooting of 5 jets as fake news. Pakistan will continue to provoke and India will not escalate unless Pakistan does something that is overboard. You cannot sponsor terrorism, use terrorism to attack other countries and expect no retaliation.

Pakistan is in dire financial circumstances, so to make a quick buck, they sold their arms to drum roll please Ukraine. So If it escalates, hopefully it does, India will get an opportunity to go into Pakistan and wipe off many more terror camps, possibly handover another defeat to Pakistan Army, thus unshackle the country from the clutches of its Army. Once terrorism and Army are defeated, democracy may at last flourish. Bringing long-term stability.

Sometimes you have to destroy to build something.

US says it is “none of our business”…

Glad to see that. The last thing we need is to get involved in another expensive, useless war.

Meaning that, like Rwanda and Liberia, the US PTB aren’t interested. TPTB are interested in Panama, Greenland, and, especially, Canada, so the trash talking continues.

Steve

It is slightly different… JD Vance called Indian foreign minister, who politely told, “we will take care of it”. US has no leverage is bit uncomforting.

BTW, US is selling arms to Pakistan and to some extent to US. So US has vested interest in the war

Not Vance, but to Rubio…

He also said India appreciated the US’ commitment to work together to combat terrorism.

In the past, everytime US rescued Pakistan and prevented India from attacking Pakistan for its support to terrorist activities. After India went nuclear, US helped Pakistan go nuclear and helped Pakistan convert it to weapons. Later, US sold F-16’s which gave Pakistan delivery capabilities to their nukes. The justification for selling F-16s, it will help pakistan hunt terrorists. :sob: :sob: :sob: So, India learned an important lesson and told US, “No thanks”.

The Indian Armed Forces’ precision strikes on Wednesday reportedly killed Abdul Rauf Azhar, the operational head of Jaish-e-Mohammad and mastermind of the IC-814 hijacking.

Azhar was involved in the kidnapping and murder of Wall Street Journal journalist Daniel Pearl in 2002. Hence, yesterday’s strikes on nine terror hubs in PoK and Pakistan delivered justice to the American-Jewish journalist.

Pakistan is a terrorist state. The military runs it.

The prime minister gets killed or thrown in prison if they don’t comply.

You see the Army is attending the funeral of a known, declared terrorists. The army carried the coffin… that says a lot. Why West and US is tolerating Pakistan’s use of terrorism??? Like my past congressman swalwell said, it is not Jews but Hindus that are getting killed in terrorism. So it is not really the same!

The best strategy for India is to wage a low intensity long drawn out war.
It is no money to sustain and China will abandon it. Pakistan is disintegrating. Balochistan will be the first to break.
