Watched it last night.
Hilarious, yet quite frightening.
Was it me, or did the crowd look bored out of their minds?
How did it compare to the revolutionary war soldiers capturing the airports?

No comparison at all really: the Continental army just took over the airports whereas Gettysburg was vicious, horrible yet somehow beautiful. It’s like apples and oranges, as it were.

A different late night show interpreted it as a pirate accent, which also works pretty well.
