Last year, and the 10years prior, the US n West was telling Ukraine to ‘take one for the team’. If ‘we’ allow you to strike too hard, Baddy Vladdy will ‘escalate’ and nuke somebody. So, just let Vladdy kill your civilians. And, we’ll supply you with some stuff we want tested in a real world ‘fight’… and some stuff that we want ‘get rid of at a $gain’ and ‘we can keep our MIC guys well paid’. Thank you, Ukraine for your service.
Ukraine and now the EU n EuNato have finally said ‘enough’. Ukraine specifically is saying Ukraine is going to defend ‘our civilians’ even if the US doesn’t want us to do so.
To paraphrase an old ‘toast’:

Sure. It only takes a few minutes to run up a white flag. But those pesky folks, the ones whose country was invaded, refused to “play ball”. What ingrates. Denying the “best dealmaker the world has ever seen” another chance to glorify himself.
