Purpose of Gaza War-Annexation of West Bank

pursuing a losing war in Gaza has been largely confined to the prime minister’s personal interests: avoiding the outcome of his corruption trials, preserving his extremist government coalition and avoiding early elections.

And why are his most crucial government allies determined to prolong it?

While Israel is extending its failed military campaign in the Strip with no clear strategic objectives, its war on the West Bank is driven by clear strategic motives: the annexation of the West Bank and the ethnic cleansing of large sectors of the Palestinian population.

There has been call for the Shin Bet head to be fired by the national security minister.

We in the US live in a country that has claimed all the territory in the contiguous states from the native Americans. The Mexican territories now in the US might be close to 1/3 of our country. We pay Mexican labor less for the same jobs done by Americans if we can get away with it. And we often do get away with it.

If a group called Mexican Violence for Revenge started to attack the US across the border in Texas how patient would we be in Michigan? Or in Colorado? Or anywhere in the US?

There would be a bloodbath in Mexico.

The Palestinians live in complete peace. Where? In Jordan where the majority of them are. Along with the Israeli Palestinian citizens who decided from day one that living along side Jews was good with them.

The West Bank and Gaza have not accepted Jews. I did not say Israelis. The Palestinians by and large in the territories long before they were territories have not accepted Jews.

There are forces of Islam only. Do not kid yourself. Those forces have not accepted anyone else’s religion.

Until the Muslim world’s governance has a separation of church and state there will be no peace.

Why would the Israelis be bothered trying to live with that? Do you think you would have patience in that situation? Israel is not a Jews only state.

There are 4 worse wars in the region.

In Europe until WW II the Christians also fought endlessly.

The four worse wars have huge problems with famine, disease, and refugees. Sudan has 12 million refugees. Can you imagine how many children have died in Sudan? Do you care at all? Just curious. Honest question because I think no one in Europe or America cares at all.

The Muslim world needs to separate church and state. That has nothing to do with Israel or the US etc…Just the first honest thing you have read on the topic.

Except for that which the Spanish and Mexicans had claimed from the natives.

No kidding! Kidding?

I think it is amazing how the news media feed people. No one gives a behind about the other four far worse wars.

Won’t happen. To the believers, religion is the state–and there are no alternatives.

Correct but then do not take an ounce of the blame or assign an ounce of the blame on Israel, the US, or the colonial powers. It is lame nonsense at this point. All of these wars are on them with tons of Russian arms.

That is why there are so many Congressionally passed laws in the US compelling religious exercises.

Steve…what first amendment?

Yes and No

In god we trust on the bills.

Tax free non profit churches.

We live in a society. The holy books were early with societal living. There are echos of those laws such as do not kill. A lot of good that is doing in the Middle East. And Israel is the least of it.

If any of you care start posting on Sudan, Somalia, Yemen, and Sryia. Far worse wars, famines, disease, and many more children dead and refugees.

But not a word.

The press is leading people by the nose on the least of it. Yet the press does not say Hamas translates as violence in Hebrew. The press does not say most of the dead are in some way related to Hamas militants. The press never says Palestinian is not an Arabic word.

The screaming from those same morons would be literally earth-shattering if they were required to comply with the religious beliefs of another religion because it was “the law”.

“In God We Trust” is the national motto. 36 U.S.C.Sec.302

The “God” thing in the pledge, turning it into a prayer. 4 U.S.C. Sec 4

The law that orders the POTUS to declare a “national day of prayer” each year. 36 U.S. Code Sec 119

All Congressionally passed laws establishing religion, in defiance of the First Amendment.

But not which religion. That matters.

No it doesn’t. Any government established religion is outlawed. Anything that says everything is run by an invisible man in the sky (God), is religion. Forcing people to utter “God”, or requiring the POTUS to tell everyone to pray, is government established religion.

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

You are mistakenly conflating faith (general) and religion (specific). All of your objections are based on this incorrect conflation.

sigh it’s pretty bad when I have to school someone on language.

# religion
1 a personal set or institutionalized system of religious attitudes, beliefs, and practices

2 a(1) the service and worship of God or the supernatural

b the state of a religious

3 a cause, principle, or system of beliefs held to with ardor and faith

Thinking Musk will make all the defects right in your new Tesla is faith. Praying to an invisible man in the sky is religion. A law requiring you to pray to an invisible man in the sky is government established religion.

You cannot beat this story, as it reverberates through every strata and cultural thread of the United States:

3 1-3 King Nebuchadnezzar built a gold statue, ninety feet high and nine feet thick. He set it up on the Dura plain in the province of Babylon. He then ordered all the important leaders in the province, everybody who was anybody, to the dedication ceremony of the statue. They all came for the dedication, all the important people, and took their places before the statue that Nebuchadnezzar had erected.

4-6 A herald then proclaimed in a loud voice: “Attention, everyone! Every race, color, and creed, listen! When you hear the band strike up—all the trumpets and trombones, the tubas and baritones, the drums and cymbals—fall to your knees and worship the gold statue that King Nebuchadnezzar has set up. Anyone who does not kneel and worship shall be thrown immediately into a roaring furnace.”

7 The band started to play, a huge band equipped with all the musical instruments of Babylon, and everyone—every race, color, and creed—fell to their knees and worshiped the gold statue that King Nebuchadnezzar had set up.

8-12 Just then, some Babylonian fortunetellers stepped up and accused the Jews. They said to King Nebuchadnezzar, “Long live the king! You gave strict orders, O king, that when the big band started playing, everyone had to fall to their knees and worship the gold statue, and whoever did not go to their knees and worship it had to be pitched into a roaring furnace. Well, there are some Jews here—Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego—whom you have placed in high positions in the province of Babylon. These men are ignoring you, O king. They don’t respect your gods and they won’t worship the gold statue you set up.”

Clear as clear can be!

Let’s take it up an energetic artistic step. To my parents immense surprise, I loved this song from the moment I heard it when I was a little tyke:

So, what happened to them?

That is the point. There is no government established religion.

Go study the Arab constitutions on this. Intermarriage and other aspects such as leaving Islam are not allowed generally, but other religions are allowed otherwise. That gets very discriminatory in practice. The US courts work against such discrimination as does the law.

“They were plotting to kill a huge number, tens of thousands of people at this concert, I am sure many Americans,” Cohen said, as reported by The New York Times. “The Austrians were able to make those arrests because the agency and our partners in the intelligence community provided them information about what this ISIS-connected group was planning to do.”

This Islam only.

Remember what we did to ISIS? Can you really preach at Israel?

You’re funny.

Notably absent from your witty retort is the definition of faith but I digress. Perhaps read some some actual court cases on the topic to better inform your opinion (note, I recommend you actually read it this time instead of assuming what it states):

I did. The 8th Circus Court said that, if Constitutional law has been broken in the past, wrt government enforced religion, as in starting city commission meetings with a prayer, for instance, then it’s OK to break Constitutional law in this case as well. What a pantload!

But what would you expect from a court with this slate of justices, other than bending “logic” to the breaking point to support their stance?
