I seem to remember a game theory course I took in college (for use in construction contract bidding – I wasn’t a Math major) where they said that “multiple bidders improve pricing”. Art of the Deal. {{ LOL }}

Seems I proposed that, if Zelensky accepts the minerals “deal”, with no security guarantees, Putin will simply tell Trump that his profiteering on the minerals would not be disrupted by a Russian takeover of the country. So, Trump doublecrosses Ukraine by cutting off all arms supplies. Russia then overruns the weakened Ukraine. Putin then doublecrosses Trump, and demands higher prices for the minerals.
Did you see the presser yesterday with Macron? Trump started talking about how all the money Ukraine received from the EU were loans that need to be paid back, and Ukraine needs to pay for the entire war. Macron jumped in, said some of the EU aid is loans, a lot is grants, and, as Russia started the war, Russia should pay the bill.
Watch France go on the drop dead list, in “retribution”.

Good for him, standing up to the grand equivocator.
Not like it takes much courage for Macron or others in Europe. I expect the first mainstream European politician to land a fist on his nose bringing blood would see significant jump up in polling.
Trump is close to a perfect symbol of the grotesque “idiot American” that competes for attention in the European mind with the heroic GI’s who saved them from Nazis and then Russia, and that 2nd image is now almost forgotten.
