If you fly Qatar Airways, and you have a long layover in Doha airport, you can get a free hotel stay & food voucher. What is a long layover? (over 8 hours)
I recently completed a round trip via Doha in both directions. My inbound trip only had a 5 hour transit. But, my return trip had a 13.5-hour layover. If I had planned it earlier, I could have gotten a room hotel onsite at the airport. Since I made my request later, the airline booked me an offsite hotel and told me to make sure I returned 3 hours prior to departure for US (2 hours for Europe or other locations).
My hotel was Saraya Corniche-- I think it is a 3 or 4 star hotel.
The hotel has a restaurant which served an all you-can-eat buffet that used up my food voucher (I think it was equivalent to a $28 food voucher). The hotel room had a coffee maker, so I had two cups of coffee in my room prior to check out that morning. Shuttle service to/from airport was handled by the hotel
