Yes you did.
We get fairly spectacular sunsets here too but, as you can see from the background, the trees are getting into full leaf and will be obscuring that view soon. In t’other direction, the mountains get in the way of a moonrise like this. Sometimes I get a hankering for a bit of flatness and a seascape.
These are my daughter’s recent rescues…a weekend at grandma’s because the kids are away (daughter’s 20 year college reunion…I feel old!).
This duo…although joining the family at different times … have hit it off from day one. Here’s a brief moment of quiet with them from last night …
I actually miss the open plains of South Dakota. I remember taking a temporary assignment in Medford Oregon. Mountains all around, covered with forests, beautiful rivers and a high desert valley. We would drive up into the mountains to the clear mountain lakes. After a while it thought, “This is nice but these mountains and trees block the view.”
Oregon is my second favorite state after Minnesota. South Dakota runs a very close third.
