But roughly half of them have already made their way back voluntarily, the Spanish government said, after the sudden arrival of so many migrants triggered chaos and a humanitarian crisis.

Right-wing Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and center-left Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen on Monday reiterated their push to combat illegal migration after thousands of unauthorized migrants surged into Spanish exclave Ceuta in late July.

“We are aware that many might be wondering about our cooperation. We come from very different political backgrounds, and we certainly do not agree on everything,” Meloni posted in a “joint message” on Facebook, sharing an archival photo of herself and Frederiksen.

“We do not accept uncontrolled immigration to Europe, and we have promoted a strict immigration policy, both in our Nations and in Europe,” the statement continued.

I live in the UK and immigration is out of control across most of Europe. Our political leaders all promise to deal with it, but never do. I almost feel that there is some hidden agenda to replace us white indigenous Brits.

One in six people living in England and Wales in 2021 were born outside the UK, according to the latest census figures.

So you think there are too many immigrants where you’re at so you tell the younguns to emigrate somewhere else? That’s not inconsistent at all.

Not a chance. The USA and Europe are in the same sinking economic boat.

There is a considerable difference between people leaving the UK and some of those coming here. The UK is extremely good at training professionals whose skills are in demand all over the world. I have a relative who is considering job offers from Singapore and Australia:

Many of the people coming here are relatively low skilled people, some cannot even speak the language, They are a considerable burden on the UK’s taxpayers:

So, each illegal migrant is going to cost the taxpayer almost £100k. A very strange way to run an economy IMHO.

This ignores the social and cultural problems that are being created.

The subject is becoming a big political issue here in the UK:

During the Windrush immigration there was an argument that we need workers and I think that this argument was still being made a few years ago.

There have been many studies on the impact of immigration on the labour market, many of which are a bit difficult to make anything of. This one suggests that immigrants are paid less for similar work than native Brits which seems a bit unfair:

There are various reports suggesting that white Brits will be a minority in quite a short time (2063?) so it will be interesting to see how this pans out. The future of the Anglo-Saxons in Britain might be under threat. After all, it was mass uncontrolled immigration that almost wiped out the native American population.
