Using Advanced Shipping & Trading report this week. Going in with the data-point that dry bulk shipping is on a downtrend - BDI falling for the 5th week.
- 12 Dry bulk vessels sold - mostly modern, but middle-aged (12-14 yo)
- 6 tanker sales - all the same size - 3 LR1 (clean), 3 Panamax (dirty). The dirty three are interesting - older tankers with ice-class rating (make good dark fleet candidates)
- One container vessel sale - good price for seller (vessel is 23/24 yo)
- Some old vessels heading to scrap heap
- More newbuild container vessels - generally on the larger side.
OPEC+ had indicated production will increase by 1 - 2 M bbls. Is the tanker market seeing that yet?
