Support for Israel in UN Ends

*The United States is facing growing domestic and international opposition to its support for the ongoing genocide in Gaza. *

*Defying the U.S. and Israel, the U.N. General Assembly voted on Tuesday, 153 nations in favor with 10 against, and 23 abstentions for an immediate end to the killing. *

*Most significantly, the vote on Tuesday showed a slew of U.S. allies abandoning Washington on Gaza. *

*It is the second time in the past six weeks that the Assembly voted for a permanent ceasefire. On Oct. 27, the vote was 120 in favor, 14 against and 45 abstentions. *

After witnessing six more weeks of genocide, 33 more nations β€” including several who almost always automatically side with the U.S. β€” this time evidently had enough and voted against Washington and in favor of an immediate halt to the slaughter.

Some U.S. allies that had abstained on Oct. 27, like Australia, Albania, Canada, Denmark, Greece and India, on Tuesday found the strength to oppose the U.S. to vote in favor of a ceasefire.

None of them in the assembly are ever our allies. Hate to break it to you but never.

I do believe Australia, Canada & Denmark ARE US allies.

They did not vote they abstained. That is the best we will ever do.

Meanwhile, there is a proxy war going on.

Kind of an unforced error on the part of the U.S.

All they had to say was β€œYes, we totally agree with a ceasefire as long as Hamas simultaneously releases all the hostages.”

Sends a message to both parties.

That was not an error. Just because leaders say things does not mean they mean them.

Biden sent more arms.

The bombing of Gaza is not killing as many people as imagined. Yes, the 18k is high. But more bombs are being dropped than people dying. That has been true all along. Possibly a factor of three bombs for every death.

Israel is taking away most of the apartment buildings.

Those who care about the Palestinians need to take them in and shelter them.

The situation with Israel and the Palestinians standing off needs to end. There is no workable solution. A supermajority of Palestinians only wants all the land. It is not realistic and it is unswayable.

Use the Russian rule: We are here now. It is OUR homeland.

If the Palestinians do not like it, they can take it up with the Russians.

The Syrians took it up with the Russians in the 1940s.
