Tesla to allow GM vehicles to use Supercharger Network

GM also says they will abandon the 2012 industry standard plugs and equip its cars with Tesla’s electric charging plugs starting in 2025.

GM owners will be able to charge their EVs at Tesla Superchargers (axios.com)

I wonder if there’s a way to charge a higher per Kwh price to a GM vehicle than a Tesla? It would be great if Tesla could use a health care unlimited gouging pricing model.

Almost certainly. As it is now, the Tesla communicates with the charger to identify the owner and charge their credit card. I think there are still a few Teslas out there that get free charging. All GM needs to do is get their cars to communicate with Tesla chargers to identify the owner and their card. Then Tesla can charge whatever their agreement calls for.

Why so much Tesla hate?

Clearly Tesla has established itself as the EV pathfinder. Legacy auto EOMs have attested to this fact. One German brand went so far as to say that Tesla is violating the laws of physics.

Five years later the proof is in the Semi Pudding!

No hate from me for Tesla. I think it’s great that they’re opening up the Supercharger network to other manufacturers. That should speed the rate of EV adoption in the US.

That said, I wouldn’t buy the stock at these levels.

Did you buy it at the 52 week low of $101.81? You could have bought it at less than half the current price of $234.86. Up another 9% pre market.
