But what’s the problem. Products are routinely priced differently for different distribution channels. Distributions costs may very well be different. Store mark-ups may be different.
It gets a lot worse when the same active ingredient is sold under different names for different diseases/conditions.
This is standard business practice. It is not illegal. Caveat emptor.
I sat down to a coffee this morning. Got to talking with the gentleman at the next table. He was a pharma analyst. He looked into lab results and helped publish them.
He is a big campaigner for our local US House rep. That bothered me - his pharma alliance. I let it slide. I fully support the rep.
I asked him if he thought the other side wanted to default. He said, “We see them lining up to create a default”.

The healthcare lobby has lots of money and several powerful components. They defeated Hillary Care. After that people said healthcare could not be reformed. Then came Obama care. Medicare added drug coverage. The prez is nibbling at price cuts in return for breaks on tariffs.
Major reforms are difficult due to the power of lobbies.
I am interested in much higher taxes. We need a no nonsense approach the public loves.
