It’s nice that Treasury is issuing a series of women on the quarter. But I’m annoyed that they did not include any American women scientists, such as Roslyn Yalow (Nobel Prize in Chemistry for radioimmunoassay), Emmanuelle Charpentier and Jennifer A Doudna (Nobel Prize in Chemistry for CRISPR), Gerty Theresa Radnitz Cori (Nobel Prize in Medicine for metabolism), Barbara McClintock (Nobel Prize in Medicine for genetics), Gertrude B. Elion (Nobel Prize in Medicine), Carol W. Greider (Nobel Prize in Medicine for the telomere) and several other women science Nobel winners who were either born in the U.S. or were immigrants to the U.S.

My vote is for Rosalyn Yarrow because she was born in the Bronx. I also like McClintock because she was a true paradigm-buster. Also the CRISPR gals because that tool could change the future.
