Trump offers $1,000 bonus plus transportation for self-deportees

How much does it cost to deport someone under the current for-profit, private contractor regime, $20,000, $100,000?

Offer a $10,000 or $20,000 bonus, and you might get US citizen takers.

But the publicity from visuals of brown people being herded onto aircraft is worth it.

This is a better laffer than anything I’ve read in a year. Like if the payment doesn’t come thru, how does a “self-deported” immigrant sue, given they can’t be in the US? Or for that matter, how many are likely to say “Hey, I’m an illegal immigrant, I live at 234 Broad Street, and I’m just wondering how I go about applying for this swell program” without a van full of goons showing up in the middle of the night a few hours later.

Read in another article about $14k.

Yeah…color me skeptical.

Now, if they send Elon down with oversized $1000 checks to present to self-deporters, then I’d believe it.

Seems weird we’re offering dangerous criminals money and transportation to self deport.

His only crimes are immigration and traffic violations. He is not a gang member. He does not beat his wife. None of that has ever been substantiated by admissible evidence. But none of that bothers you, does it? You hear a rumor about an immigrant and you’re ready to just send them off to a foreign prison, due process be damned.

You do realize that, unanimously, SCOTUS demanded the president return him to this country, correct? Does rule of law mean nothing to you?

M@GA is a racist, xenophobic organization that disregards the Constitution, and cheers it. America will not forget.

Allowing 17 family members of drug cartel leaders to enter the US.

Weird and wild stuff. D20, care to explain?

Well, it would seem that, if the one in US custody, was going to flip, he would want his family out of harm’s way.

The Democratic leadership must be providing free luxury hotels, credit cards and welcoming gifts to them. They seem to like these illegal criminals and drug cartels.

Sure, totally makes sense. In addition to reducing his prison term, you put his family in protective custody. I wonder who pays for that.

“There has been speculation in Mexico that, in exchange for a reduced prison term and other concessions, Guzmán López could agree to testify for the government in drug cases. Such “cooperation” agreements, experts say, routinely include protection for the relatives of potential witnesses.”

And let them bring in $70,000 of drug money.

“On Monday, citing “sources,” Chaparro reported on his YouTube channel that 17 of El Chapo’s relatives — including his ex-wife, various nephews and nieces, a grandson, a daughter and a son-in-law — entered U.S. territory in San Ysidro around midday May 9 and were met by FBI agents. They carried more than $70,000 in cash, reported Chaparro, who said at least one sniper watched over the group as they turned themselves in to U.S. authorities.”

Look, it’s OK since they have lots of money (that they likely used for bribes and other payoffs); therefore, we can forgive any criminal acts committed. The ones we don’t want here are the poor and disenfranchised. You know, the huddled masses yearning to be free.
