Only 1795 Rollers (owned by BMW) were sold in the US last year. 3840 Bentleys (owned by VW), and 26299 Minis (also owned by BMW) Then there is JLR (owned by Tata) 13,210 Jags, and Jag has apparently suspended production for a couple years, and 106,650 Landies, mostly the stupid expensive ones built in the UK. The 100K limit is perfectly set to benefit JLR. The big three’s problem with that? They want to sell their own stupid expensive circus wagons, rather than see anything go to Landy, because those are exceptionally profitable products.

Oh, this is interesting. In early April, VAG and JLR both stopped shipping cars to the US, due to the tariffs. As far as I know, VAG is still not shipping to the US, however, reported on May 4:
So, seems JLR knew the fix was in four days ago.

Yup. Reporting says the UK will not compromise it’s food safety standards to allow in the adulterated muck the US produces. US drops tariff on UK steel, but the UK steel industry has just about gone extinct.
The PM, giving a speech about the “arty deal”, today. If you can’t read the logo on the podium, it says “JLR”, as he is speaking from a Land Rover plant.
Some of TIG’s golf club buddies must drive Range Rovers, as this deal appears to be entirely about keeping JLR alive.
