You are probably tired of hearing about this, but WPRT closed as low as $10.83 one day this week, and finished the week under $11.00 at $10.98.
A couple of years ago I asked on the WPRT board why anyone would buy WPRT, which was losing gobs money and shrinking, when they could buy PSIX, which did about the same thing and was growing and profitable. I was attacked like mad, even by MF staff. They were both at $29.5 at the time. Now one is at $11 and the other is at $69. If you bought PSIX instead of WPRT you’d have SIX TIMES AS MUCH money now. WPRT is still a buy on MF SA by the way, as far as I know.
Saul- I watched that little dust up on the WPRT BOARD. I couldn’t believe how people were acting. I bought PSIX and have been following since. Thanks Saul

The “little dust up on the WPRT BOARD”, as BGM aptly puts it, was the most profitable piece of investment debate I’ve ever come across on the MF boards. I do as you stated, have 6X the money from selling the loser and buying PSIX. Still own it. Many others wish they had done the same.
But the most profitable part of the whole experience was finding out more about this fella going by the name of “Saul”…and how he thinks and buys and sells stocks profitably in his retirement to pay for his living expenses, including a daughter in college.
And now, 2 years and 3500 posts later we are all still learning and profiting from Saul’s wisdom and experience.
May you be blessed with many more years of health and prosperous investing.
Not only is it still a recc but both Supernova portfolios, Odyssey and Phoenix, have purchased it. It is, and has been, a complete dog which should have been sold long ago. So glad I found Saul and follow this board for the wisdom which is imparted.
My first post on this board, largely I am a silent observer on most MF boards.
Saul… I discovered you on WPRT board because of that discussion. I wanted to follow you and eventually was able to track down this board. I am thankful to that discussion and you.
I have only ever posted a couple of times at MF. One of the few times I did it was because Saul was (bravely) sticking his head up on the WPRT boards, making a lot of sense, and getting hammered down by some really seriously true believers. I’m calling him “Better Call Saul”.
After a two year death-grip on WPRT, I’ve recently sold at 99% down vs. S&P. I kept one share in order to remind me of Saul’s lessons about profitability and resiliency.
Thanks, Saul.
Would you consider taking a look at my really small portfolio? This is my second year investing and some of my stock selections are really stinko. I really admire your style!
Please note that I can’t say what will happen with WPRT from here as I haven’t looked at the company in a couple of years. It might double or triple, or it might lose 90% of its value. I can’t say. I just can say that two years ago when MF was touting it so strongly as a buy, it wasn’t one.

Calidesert, Go ahead and post your positions (not number of shares or dollar values). Include a little about the companies, your thoughts about them, and the questions you are asking. I may not know anything about many of the companies you have, but there are a lot of smart people on the board, and they may be able to offer opinions.
A week ago I commented that WPRT was down to $10.98 from the $29.50 where I first said they were inevitably going to keep losing money. And at $10.98 it was still listed as a MF buy. As of today it’s down another 30+% to $7.57!!!
It’s still a MF buy. Go figure!
Buying stock in companies that are losing so much money that they’d have to quintuple their revenue to break even is not a smart move.
