1/4 22

This morning used my last two tranches of cash to add to every position on the roster.

Nothing to do at this point but Hunker Down Rope-A-Dope Style, take whatever market beating that comes my way and just wait it out. Since I just got the 2022 roster all bucked out I have decided to forego RTHG strategy for a bit.

I started unloading some cash today, too.
GLBE, DOCN, and UPST so far.

Kind of thought we may see this weakness in 1H 2022.
Didn’t expect it already by 4th of January, but hey…take it when I can, I guess.

Apple at $3T and Tesla action yesterday all screamed alarm bells of a blowoff top, at least in the megacaps. If/when they flounder and stumble down, I don’t know if they drag growth cohort with them or if money actually rotates into beaten down small/mid caps and value, or if growth stays flat or what.

That is my big macro concern for 2022…it looks like a house of cards.
But since I don’t invest in an index, I don’t really care, except to understand how much it may or may not impact the stocks I like.

Unfortunately, SPG has ramped, as that was a backup/safety net idea I had for 2022. Lower growth upside, but stable. But I like it under $150 with the hopes it hits $180s at some point in 2022. But price too high at moment.

So just set my limit orders and see what happens!

Thanks for the update Dreamer!

You called this weakness some time ago as I remember it. Good Call.

I also remember Saul calling the Bottom recently. Given the numbers I am seeing there is the distinct possibility that you both were/are correct.

Remember this great scene?

Note: The link posted below tends to lend itself to thoughts of extreme violence. If you faint at the smell of blood - blanche at the mere mention at the word “firearm” or require a multitude of safe spaces to get through your day, then please do not open this link.

Currently the portfolio is not kicking anything and evidently has an abundance of gum.

It appears to me the the Daq has been range bound since October or so between 14,500 or so and about 15,800, give or take. On the other hand the wife’s puny little value income producing portfolio seems to be all smiles these days.

Good scene, champ…but didn’t the late great Rowdy Roddy Piper do it first?

You’re right Dreamer - I just thought the copy cat scene might have more pop. Sort of a two-for-one amp, as it were. Still - you make an excellent point in that it’s very hard to equal, much less surpass, the original. Take True Grit for example.

I still favor the 1969 John Wayne/Robert Duvall movie over the Jeff Bridges version; However, any attempted remake of The Big Lebowski would be a travesty of the highest order. I mean come on…Bridges IS and will always be - The Dude.

Maybe our friend Ears might weigh-in on this with perhaps a fresh perspective.

Movies with key scenes in bowling alleys are always entertaining and timeless.
Case in point: Kingpin

And of course: The Big Lebowski

Absolutely Dreamer!

But remembering that this is a discussion board sponsored by The Fool - itself a frothy profit deal and stanch icon of investing education for the common man, and being led by a fool as such; therefore, the value herein… the wholesome and redemptive trick, if you may - might be to turn those (just one would suffice) Bowling Alley examples into some inspiring form of investing related lesson that is both insightful and of sufficient magnitude.

I leave this to you and to any other Fool who might still be listening in to do just that giving it their best shot.

Admiringly - and All the Best,

When there’s blood on the bowling alley, it’s time to buy:-)

You see kids….
Sometimes you knock all the pins down.
Sometimes you knock down a few more or less than the guy or gal next to you.
Sometimes you wind up in the gutter.

But you ain’t gonna knock down no pins no how, if you ain’t in the bowling alley. Understand?

Fine efforts both. I would struggle to come up with anything remotely close.

A plethora of wise Bowling Alley investing statesmen as I have ever seen!

With Ears chiming in with the Jimmy Jones quote we need a three player play off for the Bowling Alley
Investing Theme Championship.

Come on brother Zoro - I’m taking the points on you!
