Ever witness a Kristallnacht? A Night of Chrystals crashing down. I did, twice. The first time near the end of WWII when a bombing raid over Budapest sent all the window panes crashing down. My reaction, age 6, “Mom, we need to go to the bomb shelter.” The second time was in Caracas, when one night Chavista mobs vandalized the city. From my 8th floor apartment I could hear the glass crashing down. It did bring back thoughts about Kristallnacht. Venezuela was on the brink of civil war. We discussed how to defend our apartment building. I collected empty beer bottles to throw at them. It didn’t happen.

It seems impossible to separate politics and political motivated anti-Musk furor from the future of Tesla stock performance.
Short of severing the Musk the link between the two, by a sale, I can see little up side to Tesla stock.

The Tesla story is a case study of the political divide within the USA. Musk was a darling of the left originally. Believers ascribed greenie climate warming beliefs to him. Government loans were made available to him. Anyone that was negative toward EVs were attacked on social media. Then he announced he was now a Republican. That sent a shock wave through the believers. Musk & Tesla could have survived that though. Then Musk did the dumb thing. He actively supported the current president and JOINED his administration!. Well that was the death knell for Tesla. Tesla boosters turned on Tesla. Musk turned out to be a self interested businessman! Horrors! The Tesla boosters FEEL betrayed. They now FEEL hatred. I wonder if the intellectually smart Musk did not understand the US psyche or he just thought he was rich enough that it didn’t matter.
The American born billionaire chameleon Bezos is MUCH more savvy.
Formerly a lefty who has donated a meaningless, to Bezo’s wealth, $100 million to the Bezos Earth Fund. A PR gesture. Now is siding up to the current president; dining with him at the White House. To be fair Bezos felt some heat from the current president’s first term. So has planned on an amelioration strategy.
Any bets whose wealth increases in 4 years? Bezos or Musk?

I wonder if the intellectually smart Musk did not understand the US psyche or he just thought he was rich enough that it didn’t matter.
Musk can save Tesla by severing his connection with Tesla but keeping him stock and whispering into the replacement CEO’s ear his genius suggestions. This would suit Musk as he has zero interest in Tesla’s day to day running. Can Musk kurb his ego’s need to be the center of attention? We’ll see.
I would say millions are passionate about their hatred toward Musk.
Chinese consumers are moving away from buying Tesla. Not from Musk hatred but toward more technically advanced & cheaper Chinese EVs.

Tesla is on path to become a $10 Trillion market cap company. SpaceX will be a $2 Trillion market cap. It’s not even close.
