Apple’s newest Magic Keyboards have TouchID - i.e. finger print scanner. The MacBook Pros also has this. Anybody have experinece with the Magic Keyboard’s performance vs the MacBook Pro’s keyboard?
My wife has the new Macbook Pro and we put both hers and mine fingerprints to access the device. So far no problems…doc

I know things work well on the MacBook Pro. I am wondering if the Magic Keyboard does as well.
New 25" iMac, but since DW’s fingerprints have been a problem on her earlier iPhones, and even the TSA couldn’t read them reliably, we went to a standard, extended keyboard… Mine, I’m sticking with an older, wired, extended keyboard… So, no experience, so far…

Yes GW, the wife’s Macbook Pro has a sensor on the button in the upper right corner of her keyboard that has a biometric sensor and reads fingerprints…doc

Does the keyboard’s Touch ID system unlock your wife’s Mac? (I could read you reply to say either the key on the MacBook or the key on the keyboard works at unlocking?
My wife’s Macbook Pro has a built in keyboard as it is a laptop. The upper right key on the keyboard has a biometric sensor that reads fingerprints and unlocks her device like your face id does on an iphone. HTH…doc
