Either the lawyers or Trump have got to go down for this.
I think there’s now an excellent chance that one or more of his lawyers gets charged. Bobb in particular. That letter she signed is going to be a real problem for her.
Again, Trump’s still got some insulation from all of this. Unless he said something really stupid to Bobb in front of witnesses, it’s still going to be hard to prove up mens rea on any of the underlying crimes. But if any of the documents that were actually in his desk has national defense information in them (not just classified info), he might have some liability for conspiracy. Still probably tough to prove up unless his lawyers have the goods on him…but they might.
