Gave up, ordered, installed the Logitech Circle View doorbell camera. I went with it mainly because of it’s Apple HomeKit setup… Actually set it up on my desk with a USB cable before actually replacing the existing doorbell button. So with that, we’re notified on the screen, iPhone, and Apple Watch right away, option to speak, hear the ringer if needed…
So then I came to actually wiring it, pretty simple, even the mounting base holes lined up with the base, then on to the Chime adapter, 2 wires in from the transformer, doorbell, 2 more to the actual doorbell… Mine is a Trine, digital jobber, kinda loud, but as it turns out, this 20+ year old jobber didn’t work with the Circle View… Support was right on it, and they’d seen it before, not worth fiddling with, looked at a tone bar one at my local hardware shop, only had one, wanted see others, but in the end, once home, I found nearly all are the same inside, under various brands, one or two clicks and it’s on the way, be here tomorrow…
So for now no inside chime, but iPhone, other notifications…
Nearly solved…

Continuing, went to regular door chime, plugged in the leads, hit the button, chime rang, notification happened, so all the electrical, mechanics is complete… So now the software side…
Logitech Circle View, I oped to initially not record stuff as I didn’t want to overload my iCloud account while I fiddled with setting it up. S now I need to find the various settings, as in how long a video, and where is it saved. Maybe Logitech’s issue, maybe Apple’s…
An email to Logitech’ support is so far unanswered… I can see the front area, hear, or even talk to someone at the door, but so far no recordings of activity…
So are there any other HomeKit users here? TMF killed our Apple User board, so maybe someone here has been there, done this before?

Digging further into HomeKit, discovered our 4K AppleTV has HomeKit enabled, apparently acting as the hub, it ‘sees’ the Logi doorbell… But I wasn’t seeing any recordings…
OK, removed, reset the logi doorbell widget, connected and reset it, but this time allowed recording, and it seems to be working… Still unclear where it store them, so a little more investigating…
Must be nap time…
This support link, sent by Logitech support, explains more of the HomeKit details…

No everything is controllable. like the lightness/contrast, but at least I see how I can control the zones, snag videos… and it also says the 10 day video does not count again the iCloud storage size, which I already had set at 200 Gb…
