Apple Home vs Logitech Circle doorbell camera

I’ve somehow confused my Home app in the move to a new Mac Mini Pro M2 e/w Ventura. It was working after the move but it seems to think there are two cameras when there is only the one, one shows no response, but you can see behind that, the camera is actually working, showing the front door view. But I can’t see how to get rid of that overlay non-responsive camera, I have so far, done a reset of the actual doorbell unit, unplugged, rebooted the AppleTV 4K which is the Home hub… No help. Actual doorbelll/chime works fine, and I do get notifications of cars, people, etc, but the Home view has this %$@& overlay I can’t seem to clear… All Apps, OS, iOS are the latest…

Oddly it works fine on my iphone, iPad, no overlay… Weird…

Ideas?

This view is if I click the picture in picture view, a mini version of the back image, live shows at the upper right, telling me the camera, the real one is working…

I would consider deleting the doorbell cam and reinstalling it to the app…doc

We did that yesterday, took some fiddling to get it back aboard, so then the full Ventura OS reinstall, but no fix there either, I’m about to climb back on the phone, had hoped it might sort itself out overnight, but no such luck…

I’m not familiar with the Home app. Is it difficult to reinstall it and then add the door camera back in? That might exhaust your options. Don’t be surprised if the tech help has you do everything you have already done…doc

Just tedious as I needed the QR code off the back of it, so it had to physically removed, powered on the desk, scanned by the setup int he Home App, etc… Did it a few times yesterday…

Better news today is when I called in to Apple Support, I connected with an old timer, Art, who hadn’t seen the problem before, but was a solid investigator…

Once he saw and we’d discussed what went before, as well as his seeing my screen so he saw what was happening, he had me set up a new iCloud Mac account, once it was up, the Home app, camera worked perfectly, no need to re-set it up, even. Flipping back to my normal account, it was still broken, but now we knew it was only in that account!

Option key, Open the Finder library, and we set 6 ‘home’ related files aside into a new folder, rebooted, and the camera was FIXED! The system recreated the errant files, so we went back in, deleted that folder… And now the camera is back woking as it used to, FIXED!

Congratulated Art, and we chatted a bit, good guy, enjoying his job! Thanks Art!

OK, on to other things…

FIXED! FIXED! FIXED! FIXED! FIXED! FIXED! FIXED! FIXED! FIXED! FIXED! FIXED! FIXED! FIXED! FIXED!
