Ireland's failing pub industry

Prices are so high, most people are now drinking at home.

I visited my cousins in Dublin for a couple of days about eight years ago and we went to a pub in the middle of the afternoon. A pint of lager was like $8.

I told my cousins, “I’d expect to see strippers in Portland if I’m paying $8 for a beer in the middle of the afternoon.”

Dublin’s pubs are doing exceptionally well.

My cousin owns these Dublin pubs. The Cat and Cage is a famous location.

This is Portland Me the largest Irish pub in the US. My cousin is doing well with a few restaurants in Portland.

My cousin’s milage is different.

Who doesn’t want a cheaper pint and have access to YouTube? My BS meter is ringing.

Cat & Cage

Is that near Dog & Crate? I certainly hope the menu items are not being referenced!

Worse it is on Dublin’s north side.
