Former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert (2006–2009) published an op-ed in Haaretz on May 22, 2025, condemning Israel’s war in Gaza as a “war of extermination”.
We saw news item that Trump has lost his patience with Netanyahu and angry at him. Netanyahu always played US politicians like a fiddle, and totally disrespected Obama and Biden. But Trump is not someone who lets an insult slide by… so may be it is time for a regime change in Israel?
What we are doing in Gaza is a war of extermination: indiscriminate, unrestricted, cruel, and criminal killing of civilians… Netanyahu, is deliberately enacting a policy of starvation and humanitarian pressure that may result in catastrophe… when the head of the Shomron Regional Council, Yossi Dagan, calls for Palestinian villages to be destroyed — that is a call for genocide.

PS 1: Immediate benefit of this is Oil prices may decline.
PS 2: Trump made no secrete of his desire for Nobel Peace price. He has been claiming, without much evidence, he made Pakistan to talk to India. Add this and if he can pull off Ukraine-Russia long term ceasefire…
Just as well Putin has readily abided by his desire to ‚stop the Ukraine war within a single day‘.
As to Gaza, who knows whether the ‚anger’ is real. He may have plans that are in alignment with Israel‘s junta:
During a wide-ranging press conference with Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Trump laid out a sweeping plan for the U.S. to colonize Gaza and build resorts there. “I don’t want to be cute. I don’t want to be a wise guy, but—the Riviera of the Middle East. This could be so magnificent,” Trump said.
The difference is, a war between two sides, and in Gaza it is one sided. Army is attacking civilians, Children, women, old people, burning farms, destroying houses…
No one is arguing against the initial attack launched by Israel. This war should have been over almost a year ago. you cannot justify killing innocent children, women, old as saying we are attacking hamas. At this point there is no difference between Hamas, and IDF. The entire EU, more than half of Israel and the rest of the world are saying there is no justification to what is going on.
Stopping the food, and water and letting children die of starvation is not a war against Hamas. If you want to justify that, fine. In any case, I will stop here, my intent is not to discuss the politics of it, but mainly Oil price crash.
And why did Hamas attack?
Maybe because Israel has been running an open air prison in Gaza for the past 75 years after their removal from the land Israel occupies now? Controlling what enters or exits Gaza. The UN still considers Gaza to be part of occupied territory under international humanitarian law.
Is Hamas a corrupt governing entity that rules for it’s own benefit. Sure. But then that is the standard in that region of the world. But Hamas was elected by the Palestinian people.
Causes of the exodus include direct expulsions by Israeli forces, destruction of Arab villages, psychological warfare including terrorism, dozens of massacres which caused many to flee out of fear, such as the widely publicized Deir Yassin massacre,[2] crop burning,[3][4]typhoid epidemics in some areas caused by Israeli well-poisoning,[5] and the collapse of Palestinian leadership including the demoralizing impact of wealthier classes fleeing.[6] Many historians consider that the events of 1948 were an instance of ethnic cleansing.
No need to rehash the modern history of the Middle East. Endless pixels have died on this board alone, and (to my knowledge) no opinions have been changed. I was merely pointing out that if you decide to attack a country (for whatever reasons) you must consider the possible consequences.
Here is the problem.. Hamas is not a separate country and those who attacked are citizens of Israel. As much as we celebrate Israel is a democracy in middle east, it is also the only democracy where a significant population are denied franchise. If you take into 5 million palestinians living in refugee camps outside israel, that is 50% of the population are denied franchise.
We are not living 5000 years ago, where you can completely wipe out your rival tribe. Unfortunately that is the thinking of the current administration there.
Mostly militants, was some of their family members earlier on, and the buildings torn down mean the fighting has not been door to door street fighting. People are herded away from the building demolision.
Hamas’s health ministry reports all killings as innocent civilians. Not at all true.
The average American worldview is pretty shallow and far from reality. Forget about Hamas, Israelis and other aid workers have provided the figure for Children’s death. If you think they are all wrong and you sitting in your basement, knows the fact… ok.. nothing here to see.
No I think Hamas militants sat with their extended families when targeted with bombs.
You are not in the know.
Keep ignoring Ukraine Sudan Yemen each 1000s killed per day. Just focus on the Jewish war, 85 kiĺled per day. Be righteous.
Ever notice Hamas never admits a single militant or their family members has been killed. Why would you consider yourself informed?
It was 70% women and children when there was 30k killed. Now the militants’ families aren’t hanging with their men. So 55k dead and women and children dead is under 50% according to both warring parties, and both agree closely on number killed.
You might want to get informed in these conversations when you don’t know or understand the topic.
Hey there something else is happening in the world.
“I don’t know what the hell happened to Putin,” Trump told reporters.
Russia overnight launched a record number of drones into Ukraine, along with nine cruise missiles, according to The Associated Press. No deaths were immediately confirmed.
Doesn’t sound like only 85 deaths per day. No need to change the topic.
