Is Israel war coming to an end?

And do you think there is a useful purpose to these semi-endless threads?

Might wake some people up as the US government frog march foreign students, who wrote or sign protest letters, off college campuses and then pulling their student visas. one might get the idea that free speech had an Israeli exception.
First they came for the Palestinians yada yada yada.
The US foreign policy is despicable Especially when it supports genocide.

Of course it has. When some people wanted to boycott Israeli products, congress tried to pass a law making that a crime. Both parties have practiced product boycotts, yet when it comes to Israel… you don’t have any rights.

US citizens constitutional rights are secondary to Israel.

And the hospitals?
And the aid blockade?

Then why with Israel do 60% of Palestinians have democracy, freedom, rights, and prosperity?

Yeah sure… the people who are dying with no water, food have all the rights and prosperity???

I don’t see any difference between criminals, their supporters and apologists.

Dear TJ,

Hamas had declared war in 2006. Blame them.

Dear Kingran,

And you know this, how? The Health Ministry has not claimed any deaths.

Sudan has the only declared famine in the region. But that is a non-issue. Morality is choosy.

Estimating the number of Hamas militants killed in the ongoing conflict is challenging, as reliable and independently verified figures are difficult to obtain. Different sources provide varying estimates, and there’s often debate about the accuracy of these figures and the distinction between combatants and civilians

.

Here’s a summary of different estimates:

Israeli Estimates:

  • Around 14,000 combatants killed or captured as of late June 2024, according to The New York Times.
  • Over 13,000 militants killed by April 2024, according to Wikipedia.
  • Between 17,000 and 20,000 fighters killed by August 2024, according to Wikipedia.
  • Initially estimated 25,000 fighters in October 2023, then revised to 40,000 by January 2025,.

Hamas’ Estimates:

  • Between 6,000 and 7,000 members lost from its armed and civilian wings, according to Al Jazeera.
  • However, most of Hamas’s estimated 25,000 fighters are believed to be alive and in hiding.

Independent Assessments:

  • Detailed reports identify only nearly 8,500 militant fatalities, according to ACLED.
  • US intelligence estimated between 11,000 and 13,000 militants killed as of June 2024.

Important Considerations:

  • Distinguishing between combatants and civilians is a significant challenge in this conflict.
  • Hamas operates in tunnels and urban areas, making casualty assessment difficult.
  • Independent verification of casualty figures is limited, and there are questions about the reliability of both sides’ claims.

In conclusion, based on publicly available information, it’s difficult to provide a definitive number of Hamas militants killed. Estimates vary widely, and the true figure likely lies somewhere within the range of the provided estimates, but with a considerable margin of error.

Hamas wants this war at any cost.

Hamas could have negotiated from 2006 up until this day.

Hamas is not the victim. Blame Hamas. Many Palestinians do blame Hamas.

There will be people other than Muslims.

They don’t. Your numbers are wrong.

There are approximately 2.1 million Palestinians that live in Israel and are citizens. There are approximately 5.5 million Palestinians that live in the West Bank and Gaza, that have few to no rights within the Israeli political or legal system. There are an additional 4.4 million Palestinians that live as refugees in refugee camps in Jordan, Syria, and Lebanon.

I don’t know where you got that 60% figure you mention from time to time, but it’s clearly wrong.

Dear Al,

You do not have the numbers

Yes, many Jordanian citizens are of Palestinian origin. Specifically, over half of Jordan’s population is of Palestinian descent, meaning they originated from areas west of the River Jordan, including the West Bank, Gaza, and what is now Israel. While many are Jordanian citizens, some have experienced arbitrary and unauthorized revocation of their citizenship, leaving them stateless, according to Human Rights Watch.

Palestinian Citizens of Israel: 2.1 million:

Population of Gaza and West Bank 5.5 million: State of Palestine Population (2025) - Worldometer
Palestinians in refugee camps in other countries: 4.4 million

Where does your 60% figure come from? The Palestinian citizens of Israel don’t even comprise 20% of the Palestinians that live in areas under Israeli control, let alone the refugee camps in other countries…

Yes, there were Palestinians in what is now Jordan before 1948. In fact, the region, then known as Transjordan, was home to a significant number of Palestinians. Following the 1948 Arab-Israeli War and the annexation of the West Bank by Jordan, the population of Jordan, including those of Palestinian origin, increased significantly, and many Palestinians sought refuge in Jordan.

There are 11.44 million Jordanians and 50 to 60% are Palestinian.

Jordan depends on Israel for its democracy and prosperity.

Which doesn’t answer the question. Where are you getting the number of 60% from? The majority of Palestinians in the region live in the West Bank and Gaza, where they do not have freedom, rights and prosperity. Still more live in refugee camps in other countries. The overwhelming majority of Palestinians do not have rights under the political or legal systems of Israel, nor in the systems of Syria or Lebanon if they live there.

So where did you get that 60% figure?

6 million Palestinians give or take in Jordan as citizens.

Dear Al,

I want the $ 20 on this as a direct deposit.

"Oxfam reported in April based on IPC data that Palestinians in northern Gaza were “forced to survive on 245 calories a day.” WFP had documented how the Israeli blockade inflicted starvation conditions that approached famine levels in northern Gaza as early as January and February of that year.

Ames does not address any of this data. Instead, he suggests, mostly based on social media posts from an Israeli-British citizen who told Ames she is “not a journalist,” that Gaza is stocked with food.

There has been no evidence that any of these international humanitarian organizations exaggerated their food security data. Rather, there has been substantial evidence demonstrating that the number of Palestinians who have already died from starvation have been vastly undercounted."

New “humanitarian aid” efforts seem sketchy. It’s almost like there’s a concerted effort to remove Palestinians from Gaza. Word on the street is that Gaza is a prime location, why waste it on Palestinians when somebody can build a big beautiful resort!

“A former CIA officer who once headed American schemes to train right wing contras in Nicaragua in the 1980s has been working with the Israelis to hatch a new aid organization, call it “independent,” and proceed to deploy it on the starving Gaza population with the assistance of foreign entities and U.S. security contractors, according to new reports.”

Closer to 3 million:

…of which about .6 million are not citizens of Jordan.

So again, the overwhelming majority of Palestinians in the region do not currently have full rights or freedoms. And I don’t think that Palestinians who fled or were driven out of the areas controlled by Israel will think positively of Israel just because they were among the fortunate who landed in a safe place that gave them citizenship.
