Locking up parents of mass shooters?

I think childrearing has to be one of the best examples of the adage…“You don’t have to know very much to think you know enough … but a heck of a lot to realise you don’t”. I won’t embarrass myself by owning up to some of the daft ideas I had before my daughter was born🤔

The other one surely must be the difficulty of getting any sort of mental health services for kids…or even a diagnosis in the first place, come to that. Mercifully, not for my daughter but rather that lump of foul deformity (formerly known as my son in law…I’m catching up on my Shakespeare, if only for the vibrant insults/apt descriptions!).

We had a talk at Rotary a couple of years ago by one of the members who was now ADA but back then was one of the prosecutors responsible for successful convictions of 2 of the guys who sold some of the firearms to the
**Columbine shooters and also allowed them to practise on their property. Even he commented on the sorry state of mental health services…and that’s not the sort of sentiment usually associated with prosecutors.

**edit: forgot the most important detail…the Columbine school
