There is absolutely no way just looking at payments will uncover fraud. Let’s take one example of Elon Musk finding out that AlphaWolf was paid his Social Security of $100 on December 15, 2024. What does that tell Elon? Absolutely nothing. There is nothing in the Treasury’s payment system that proves whether I exist, how much I’m supposed to receive, or even if I’m a real Wolf.
But wait! How do we know the Treasury was supposed to send AlphaWolf $100 on December 15, 2024? Easy. The SSA sent the list to Treasury with the proper approvals from the SSA because it is the SSA’s responsibility to ensure that proper payments are made to the right Wolf in the correct amount and on the proper date. It is the Treasury’s responsibility to make the payment based on SSA’s authorization. Period. So even if the Elon checked the file that SSA sent to Treasury, it wouldn’t tell him Jack.
If Elon thinks there is SS fraud (maybe Wolf is still cashing in grandma Wolf’s SS because when she died, instead of reporting her death, Wolf stuffed her in his freezer) or maybe Wolf should only be getting $75 because SSA made an error in calculating my SS amount, Elon will need to look at a lot of detail in the SSA files to uncover the fraud.
So the real question is, why does Elon want access to the Treasury payment system? Because there is no way to find fraud JUST by having access to the Treasury payment system EVEN IF the Treasury personnel have been intentionally making fraudulent payments! You would still need another system (SSA, US Aid, Medicaid, etc) to prove the payments were fraudulent.
So Elon’s goal in getting access to the Treasury payment system has nothing to do with finding waste. You need the system that generated the authorization for payment (or that didn’t authorize payment in the case of fraudulent payments) to discover fraud.
Whistle up an AI app to scan all the names of people receiving benefits. Sort out the names, like Juan, and Hussain, that don’t sound white, thereby establishing probable cause (according to the “values” of the people running the program) that their claims are fraudulent. Send them letters that their benefit payments are stopped, until they prove they are citizens, entitled to benefit. Once all the non-white people have been investigated, go after the white people who don’t toe the line: use the same AI app to sift through the names and addresses, and correlate them with member and donor lists of organizations that “hate America”, according to the “values” of the people running the program.

I think mom got than SS card for me, when she opened a bank account in my name, so the interest would not go on her taxes.
