Bob,

Any club that would have me as a member I do not want to be a member of.

I don’t base my opinions on emotions. My opinions are based on a keen understanding of people and their motivations.

I don’t know exactly how this will play out either. Why are you willing to give Musk the benefit of the doubt? What has he done to suggest that he’s capable of empathy and willing to understand the implications of his decisions? He doesn’t care about humanity, he cares about his influence over humanity. That seems like a recipe for bad things to come.

How do we know that Musk isn’t stealing America’s money?

How do we know that Musk isn’t stealing America’s money?

The narrative we have been fed, since the 80s, is the rich should have all the money, because they know how best to use it. Musk has more than anyone else, so, according to ideology, he is entitled to all of it. Right?

Steve

Ok.

I’m not assuming any thing positive or negative. I’m willing to watch and see.

That’s what I think “benefit of the doubt” means. YMMV.

:beetle:
ralph sees a lot of strawmen, red herrings, ad hominem attacks, etc, emotional biases in the comments. YMMV. LOL.

I agree, buckle up buttercup, here comes the response. LOL

That’s not what it means. The benefit of the doubt means you believe someone is honest and trustworthy, even during times of uncertainty. So…why do you think Musk is honest and trustworthy?

Ralph it is not the hard drugs Musk is discussing taking in the office.

The revolution is in 2026.

The rich will be glad to pony up more in taxes. Just to begin to do the right thing.

Well. I saw that strawman coming.
That’s why I put:

With my comment.

Again. You have every right to your opinions.
Cause YMMV.

I originally asked if there was anything specific that y’all thought I should be doing.

I meant anything substantive, and actually doable. That would make a real difference.

So far. Nothing.

As an alternative:
What substantive, actionable thing are you doing, that will materially change the situation?
Perhaps I’ll learn something that I can, and am willing to do?

Huh? When you say you’re willing to give someone the benefit of the doubt…it’s implied you believe they are honest and trustworthy. That’s what the phrase means. There’s no twisting of the definition. If you meant something different, you should clarify.

Welp, we could stop giving people the benefit of the doubt when they clearly don’t deserve it.

We can not avoid the militaristic right now.

This is not so much about Canada and Mexico. This is about China. They are crawling up everyone’s back.

The other more talented guy was wait and see. We have to act.

The US Constitution is meant to flex between authority and liberties particularly in times of trouble or war. The courts rule for liberties in times of peace.

Where is your source for claiming 20 years of assumption and bias of the IG staff?

Getting back to the OT, a question for the group: exactly what response would you have if, assuming you receive SS or other governmental benefits, they were eliminated or reduced? If you are receiving a monthly SS check and your benefit were suddenly reduced by 10% or 20% what recourse would you have and what action would you take?

Vote and campaign for a candidate that opposes such.

I suppose that (partially) works if you don’t need the money.

Pete

Won’t work. “Vote for me and you’ll never have to vote again”. We’re toast.
