I have an old friend, a (very cute) retired Boston transit cop I contacted. He is thrilled with the new NYC cars and sees them as making crimestopping much easier.

The Montreal subway runs on pneumatic tires. No screech. I had strap time on the Montreal Metro in 67. I also had strap time on the NYC subway in 64. Fortunately dad was a fluent French speaker and reader, who also had lived in NYC in the 30s, so I left the navigation of the systems up to him.
