Pull your drawers down daily

Ok, I’ve got a bunch of one-liners for this, but they all get wiped out by the censor. That stinks.

I came to a skidding stop!

This really has been known all along. Old pharts get impacted.

If we live long enough…

Surprisingly, it wasn’t a bad article by cnn standards.

This research wasn’t “designed to test the causal relationship between bowel movements, the gut microbiome and cognitive health, so we cannot firmly draw conclusions regarding the precise causal sequence underlying this association,” Ma said.

LMAO oh I and millions of other people know exactly what went wrong. It is called old age. Nothing more and nothing less.

I am guessing that one common thread between old age, constipation and poor brain function is exercise. The same exercise that is good for my heart and brain function also helps me poop. That is first had testimony from this 67 year old.

Pops probably not. My dad is very active at age 84 but got impacted two months ago for the first time, fiber needed.

The intestine also get older.

You don’t suppose it could be multifactorial? Mayo Clinic and John’s Hopkins recommend both increased fiber AND exercise for constipation. And I often feel the need and ability to poop about an hour into my walks.Any other seniors want to weigh in?

At 72 I am still a clockwork mechanism, but I have longed loved fruit, veg, and long intense runs that have become long intense walks…

Long air travel (immobility, dehydration) is my only problem area. I plan on having to deal with it and literally gently massage my guts (following the circumference of lower abdomen tracks the large intestine very easily) every few hours for 24 hours after arriving whereever. Sploosh…

Pops you are right it is not an either/or which I should not have presented it as. Different strokes for different people.

Same for me! I poop every morning immediately after waking up. But I poop AGAIN after I have my morning coffee, which can be anywhere from half an hour to two and a half hours after waking up.

In Venezuela it is easy to find pure cacao with no additives. In modern supermarkets it’s a lot more difficult, most are adulterated with sweeteners and other junk. In Portugal I found it at Lidl.

I’m a decaf guy (doctor’s orders) and find coffee useful, too.

Sorry to dump this load on you.

There’s also evidence that coffee increases the release of cholecystokinin, another hormone that plays a key role in the digestive process. Bottom line? Coffee can speed up your poop conveyor belt. It’s a natural laxative .
