Q1 2026 And this quarter?

I have owned both Oracle and AMD in the past. They failed to perform for me. Once Oracle was a major player with data base software for businesses. To me they are an under achiever. AMD has some avid followers on TMF. Perhaps the deal with OpenAI means they have turned the corner. We shall see.

Heard on the radio, a big week for the Magnificent 7 - four of them (MSFT, TSLA, AAPL, META) report this week. Then, GOOGL and AMZN the week after. Could be a hopping week with all those companies reporting. NVDA is further out in late Feb 2026. CRWV gets a $2B investment from NVDA, which gives the former a lift. Mentioned on another board, an idea that got my attention, CPNG - South Korean version of AMZN. Shares retreated to 52-week lows. There was a data breach reported in Dec 2025. But upon a deeper investigation by police and cyber experts, it turned out the breach was found to be a lot less severe than initially announced.

I wonder what TicTok will do for Oracle.

Yes we all hope for good tech earnings this week. Perhaps that will give them a boost.

01/27

Well, it seems like a new risk showed up regarding CPNG - US Government, tariffs. Still, decided to go ahead with my decision. I now have some CPNG with purchases in both taxable ac and Roth ac. Another MRVL nibble in taxable ac. Another BRK-B nibble in Roth ac. Opted for some FRO in taxable ac

Some ideas trimmed, some ideas built up

  • Added to ABEV in Roth ac
  • Trimmed LRN in taxable ac, closed out stake in Roth ac
  • Added to IREN in Roth ac
  • Added to MRVL in taxable ac
  • Added to QCOM in Roth ac
  • Added to CORZ in taxable ac
  • Added to AAPL in Roth ac
  • Trimmed VSH in taxable ac
  • Trimmed HIMS in taxable ac (drops name out of Top 10)

Last week saw the announcement of quarterly results from 4 of the Magnificent 7. Other than the Tesla developments (ceasing production of the Model S and Model X) and the Microsoft spend data, I didn’t dive into reports too much. Apple’s price seem to be recovering. Had nibbled, and now a brief skim says the company had good earnings - Yay! Two more Mag 7 names report this week. NVDA also announced an additional investment in CRWV. New price point from a biggie is a useful mark to assess whether to add or not. Timing is nice, as today is day 30/31 - will just wait another day to be safe. Tinkering with the idea of making LRN a trading fish. Company had a nice bounce last week. But then gave a chunk on the day of the bounce, and a little more the next day. Safer idea to trade since I have only realized gains in both Roth and taxable ac.

Tech stocks are doing ok but it’s the memory stocks that are really hot. SNDK, Western Digital, Micron, Seagate. Demand seems strong due to AI and data centers. Prices are up.

Would phrase it slightly different - some tech stocks are doing very. Some are pulling back a little. AMD took a hit today. QCOM has been on a multi-week drop. Yes, memory-related names seem to be holding up (I did see the SNDK jump. Not tracking the others too close). Decided to close out my VSH stake. Not memory, but different components for AI-related or data center related use.
Decided on my starter position with SFM today - just to add variety to the port.

02/05

One of those “market puke” days. Could not have predicted the figures at the close based on the first hour. I mean, AMD was red out the gate. But, the neoclouds seemed to be okay initially and COHR was around breakeven. But then, the flood gates opened. Nice of BRK/B and AAPL to work counter to the market. Nibbled on AMD for taxable ac and U nibble for Roth ac. DHT kicked off Q4 2025 reports for shipping entites. LPG is next (but it is Q3 2026 for them)

02/06

Very sharp V recovery with today’s bounce significantly overshooting yesterday’s drop. Lots of names participating. A bunch of nibbles and one trim

  • NEGG nibble in taxable ac
  • CORZ nibble in taxable ac
  • IREN nibble in Roth ac
  • CPNG nibble in Roth ac
  • BWLP trim in Roth ac

02/12 Port behavior noticeably negative. But, even so, there were some surprises.

  • EQIX bounced. Q4 2025 was a miss. But company has guided higher for Q1 2026
  • RWT bounced 20%
  • Mentioned elsewhere - Though FLNG announced ok results, and maintained div @ 75c, I opted to trim my FLNG stake in Roth ac. Another vessel rolled off charter, and FLNG now has three vessels trading spot. Company projecting decent revenue for 2026 - not sure how much of the rev is firm. But even today, that div is not being covered.

As noted elsewhere,

Taxable ac was Black, then Red, the Black again. Some trading

  • More CPNG
  • Another RELY nibble
  • More BROS
  • The EQIX bounce seemed overdone - took my gains
  • Closed out small RWT position

02/17 - 02/20 Fewer trading days didn’t stop me from making a few trades

  • Nibbled on an old name in taxable ac- UMWC
  • On HIMS bounce, closed out the taxable ac position
  • In Roth ac, on bounce, trimmed the NVDY stake
  • In Roth ac, another AMD nibble
  • More CELH in taxable ac
  • More PGY in taxable ac
  • More IREN in Roth ac
  • Another UMWC nibble in taxable ac
  • Another MRVL nibble in taxable ac
  • On nice bounce, trimmed RELY in taxable ac

Shipping companies starting to report their end of year results - TNK, NMM, EDRY. All three reported decent results. Need to dissect NMM a little more. Somewhat surprised at NAT powering higher. But overall, the segment seems to have gotten a boost e.g. TEN, CMBT, FRO, ECO. Just glanced, the latter reported today. Will have to skim their results.

02/25 Some trades yesterday, but today was more eventful.

  • FOMO feeling on shipping ideas, so I decided I needed to do something in that sector. Decided that FRO was worth a nibble on the price pullback. Then picked up some GSL. Both moves in taxable ac
  • UWMC announced results today. Beat on rev, miss on earnings. I think it was still a decent report. Added in taxable ac. Later, nibbled in Roth ac
  • More BROS in Roth ac
  • More QCOM in Roth ac
  • After hours, heard on the radio - Nvidia had very nice results.

Yes, Nvidia delivered the earnings growth as expected. Shares prices rising for the last week hit 202 after the announcement but now have receded to 180s. Quick profit taking.

Market thinks Nvidia stock is fully valued but that means PE is plunging. Imagine a stock w large earnings growth w a PE below 10. The market thinks the sky will fall.

@pauleckler- Yes, a somewhat ugly end to the week for several of my AI-related tech names. NVDA has been a ~10% retreat since results. Today, was ugly for CRWV and NBIS in particular. And smaller % retreats on others. On the drop, opted to nibble on CRWV in both taxable and Roth accounts. Also. nibbled on AMD in taxable ac. On bounce, trimmed BWLP in taxable ac. Net gain on LT holding provide a hedge option on largest shipping idea. A brief scan on SeekingAlpha pages indicates TRMD and NAT released results yesterday too.

03/02 Developments in Iran, the MIddle East and the Persian Gulf weigh heavily on the market in multiple ways. First off, the threat of a drawn out war with a lot of innocent casualties, and the conflict spreading to more than just US, Israel & Iran is a concern. As alluded to in the METAR threads, there is a direct impact on oil and gas leaving the Persian Gulf via Strait of Hormuz. Price of oil rising, and the domino effect on the costs of other goods and services. Pleased that I have some exposure in various tanker types. But, I do wish I had more dirty tanker exposure. Even at this late stage, may still add to a couple of names - FRO and ECO definitely on the radar. But definitely even LNG and LPG players are probably more on the radar.

Tech today - a couple of names get a “network effect” boost from NVDA, and I happen to own one i.e. COHR. Don’t own the other, Lumentum (LITE). It would have been nice to own both. But, I will take 1 out of 2. With BRK/B slide, COHR moves into #2 slot.

03/03 Another rough day for tech. The COHR pull-back is rough. To a lesser degree, the crude tanker names are also pulling back. Well actually, … FRO about 5%, and others, … slightly less.

BWLP reported today. Quick skim Q4 2025 avg $50.3K ($48.1K/calendar day), div of 57c/sh (100% of shipping NPAT). There was a gain from Product services. But, the nature of the Product services earnings is more distributed. BWLP had a fair amount of dry docking in Q4 2025, and even more in Q1 2026. Company also provided an update on its VLGC fleet in MEG (2 operating vessels + 1 vessel in dry dock)

03/04 Special day in the family. Active day for me

  • QCOM nibble in taxable ac
  • UWMC nibble in taxable ac
  • On pull-back, more FRO in taxable ac
  • QCOM nibble in Roth ac
  • SE nibble in Roth ac
  • CORZ nibble in taxable ac
  • BRK-B nibble in Roth ac
  • CORZ nibble in Roth ac
  • U nibble in Roth ac
  • NVDA nibble in Roth ac

My Neoclouds had looked okay earlier in the day. Looks like only NBIS held on.

03/05 - 03/06 Unless one were living under a rock, it seems obvious the item dominating the news - Iran. Despite one vessel powering its way in, Persian Gulf mostly closed. Little air traffic out. Back-to-back days of negative hits to the self-managed port. Scale - each day about 1.1% hits. Bucking the trend was MRVL. Opted to close out MRVL in Roth ac, and trim the MRVL position in taxable ac. Also, trimmed INSW in Roth ac, and added to UWMC in taxable ac.
