Searched for

Apparently anyone can have access to boards now?
Just by searching.
Good jobs guys, if in addition to locking up boards, it seems you made them acessable to all!
Way to go !

I just searched for
fool living below your means
on another pc
and was able to get to the discussion board - with THE TOP LISTING LOG IN.
I was able to see everything without being Logged In.
They have made a huge mistake with this change in more ways than one.
The common/non-pay boards have always been searchable and read only without being logged in. Nothing has really changed… that I’m aware of.
Well, as a former paying customer (been here since forever) and long time log on person…
I have never had the occasion to be searching for info for questions that resulted in ‘logged on discussions’ threads on the fool.
Never.
It was private, we were logged on. The only things that came up from fool searches were articles.
But now, even active boards come up.
I guess I need to learn a bit more.
And delete my account.
Shame on me for not knowing.
If you are talking about searching from Google or the like with the site: qualifier and a pointer to either a specific board or to favorites or whatever, those have long been searchable and require no login. Premium boards are not searchable, logged in or not. I.e., Google search knows nothing about your login status.
THANKS and see you guys later

You can delete your account but the posts you made will live forever in the TMF databases.
thanks
As far as I know, anyone has been able to read the boards since, well, forever.
Posting, however, requires you to be logged in.
