good news

Our aide’s daughter is also a caregiver and has a 104-yr-old client who just went on hospice. When the poor fellow expires, our aide will give her daughter her own Friday client, freeing Fridays for us. Not that I’m a vulture hanging over the poor gentleman, but I’m really looking forward to having our aide on Mondays & Fridays. Then I’ll never (or rarely) need to shower him by myself. It can be easy, but more often not. And it gives me another morning for appts, errands, important phone calls, etc.

She’s also expecting to be in town this Saturday morning and offered to come over to get DH ready for the day. Score! If she has time, I’ll ask her to replace a lightbulb in the ceiling for me as well. She’s very handy and likes doing that sort of thing.

He’s enjoying our new habit of after-lunch tea. I vary based on my mood–green, chai, black, herbal (usually chamomile).

He’s doing better taking supplement gummies now that I divvy them up between breakfast and lunch.

Perhaps you can find an enjoyable-tasting herbal tea that helps to soften stool.
