Over two weeks, Palestinians watched as Israeli military bulldozers tore up mile after mile of their streets and alleys, sewage seeping into the dusty ruts left behind.
The people of Tulkarm and Jenin, the two West Bank towns that were the focus of Israel’s latest military raids, said they had never before experienced such a scale of destruction.
Residents pointed to one video that shows an Israeli armored bulldozer flattening a decorative roundabout and nearby vegetation.
Visual evidence analyzed by The New York Times supports accounts from residents about the damage from Israel’s latest raids. Videos filmed in Tulkarm and Jenin show bulldozers destroying infrastructure and businesses, and soldiers impeding local emergency responders.
“We watched their bulldozers tear up streets, demolish businesses, pharmacies, schools. They even bulldozed the town soccer field, and a tree in the middle of a road,” said Kamal Abu al-Rub, the governor of Jenin, a governorate in the northern West Bank. “What was the point of all of this?”
The Palestinians on all sides are Syrian tribesmen who have had options all along. Most live in peace with Israel as either Israeli citizens or in Jordan. Those who have pledged to fight for 75 years need to leave now.
The tribes are not all one group. Many of the tribes decided Jews were never a problem. Some decided Jews were the worst thing to live with.
Where does the King stand on Yemen? Syria? Sudan? Somalia? Does he have them on ignore?
Popular opinion scapegoats.
Jordan does not want one single refugee in their country because all of them have been at war for 75 years. That is why the Kingdom is nervous.
America is doing that to Mexican illegal immigrants right now and calling them criminals. Not true. Net the Mexicans have been returning to Mexico for years.
People will lie. Lying is one thing, while 75 years of war is another. It has to end. Jordan does not want them.
A moral line of bull. Save them but we won’t help them at all (adding we do not want them to kill us Jordanians, the other Palestinians)
To try to convince the non-Hamas supporters to get rid of Hamas and its supporters. As the vast majority of the Gaza Palestinians support Hamas (per alleged polls posted previously), they have no legitimate standing to complain about the entire area being demolished–as it was used to conceal/protect Hamas. Israel is doing what I said would be done. Make the area where Hamas was launching attacks uninhabitable.
If Mexico was launching such attacks against the US, what would the US do? LOL !!!
The Hamas missiles are ineffective. Hardly anyone is killed. Israel 2000 lb. bombs and missiles are deadly. 50,000 killed and 100,000 injured in Gaza. Now Israel is using the same 2000 lb. bombs and missiles against Lebanon.
If Mexico were launching such useless missiles toward the US, then US would go in and clear those sites. They would not use 2000 lb. bombs and missiles and killing 50,000 and injuring 100,000 civilians.
I think you’re vastly mistaken in your assessment of US restraint. “Hardly anyone” being killed isn’t the same as no one being killed. If Mexico were launching rockets into U.S. airspace and someone got killed by one - ever - we would not tolerate it. If we had to evacuate San Diego because of Mexican rocket fire (as Israel had to do along the Lebanon border in response to Hezbollah’s more effective but still largely-blocked rockets), the US would level Baja California to make the rockets stop. And the electorate would cheer the effort every step of the way.
“Long-time Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah and other top commanders of the terror group were killed in a massive Israeli airstrike on their underground headquarters in the Lebanese capital of Beirut, the Israel Defense Forces announced Saturday morning…”
And, FWIW, Iran’s Ayatollah Khamenei denounced the attack while “transferred to a secure location inside the country [Iran] with heightened security measures in place…”
I was expecting a ground invasion as soon as their com network was blown up. Killing the “top people” is futile, as someone else simply steps into the top job, as we found killing the “top” Islamic boogymen, repeatedly, for twenty years.
Apparently that was the original idea, to have the pagercide followed closely by a land campaign. It seems that the plot was (almost) discovered, an operative was killed and the pager operation had to go on earlier than planned.
iirc, reportedly, the pager scheme had been in the works for a few years. That would sort of evaporate the excuse that the building war on Hezbollah is entirely due to their attacks on Israel, which apparently started on October 8th of last year, in response to Israeli attacks on Gaza.
Ask “Bibi” where he has been. He has been saying their ops against Hezbollah have been reprisals for Hezbollah rockets fired on northern Israel since last October.
“Israel has every right to remove this threat and return our citizens to their home safely. And that’s exactly what we’re doing … we’ll continue degrading Hezbollah until all our objectives are met,” Netanyahu said.
“Yet Israel has been tolerating this intolerable situation for almost a year. Well, I’ve come here today to say: Enough is enough.”
Like in Iraqi, Afghanistan, Vietham, and Cambodia. Did I mention Cambodia. The US virtues are amazing.
Just listen to the talking heads. You find out all about the smallest wars between Isreal, Hezbollah, and Gaza. No need to worry thy pretty head about the other larger wars or the famine and disease.
What Steve is implying is that you should not take precautions before you get attacked and wiped out.
If one believes the accounts, Hezbollah is the most powerful force in Iran’s Ring of Fire. Israel had to neutralize Hamas before also taking on neutralizing Hezbollah. While the method is up to Israel, the timing is not.
