Happy New Year to all!

The New Year (2022) has arrived, the markets are open, why not some investing?
Unlike 2020, 2021 was the year the US turned on the LNG spigots for export.

  • My LNG shipping idea, Flex LNG (FLNG), started the day negative (-6%), so I figured - Yes, why not? So I added to my stake. FLNG have 5 vessels leased to Cheniere on medium term charters
  • BBB? No, not that BBB. I’m talking about Brazilian Beer Bet aka Ambev (ABEV). Another idea that started 2022 on a negative note (-3.57%). Below $2.75/sh is what I consider a good starting point for this pick. Conditions were met - added to my stake
  • BBB? Yes, that BBB. Except, these folks aren’t waiting for US Gummint and US Congress to figure out Infrastructure spending. Atlantica Infrastructure (AY) are proceeding with various infrastructure projects in US, Canada and elsewhere around the globe. Added to my pile.
  • D is for Dog. Or D = Dog. Or DeDog. No, I mean Datadog,Inc (DDOG). Someone needs to be monitoring your cloud applications, and making sure servers are running properly. Down around 8% the first hour of trading. DDOG was nice to me in 2021, and I like dogs. Nibble time

In essence, my primary train-of-thought was - 2022 has arrived, Carpe Diem! But, it is one thing saying it, and another actually doing it. So, I did want to share the actual actions

FWIW, FLNG ended 2021 as the idea in my shipping basket, with the Top spot in % unrealized gains. Obviously, not a great feeling to start the day (and a new year) 6% lower. But then, the thought was, what do I know about FLNG that the market seems to be discounting? And the answer there is, that FLNG has taken steps to smooth out its revenue in 2022 and 2023 with more charter coverage.
