Like 9/11 was an excuse for the US regime change foreign policy.
Perhaps Oct 7 attack upon Israel is the excuse for the removal of the Iran nation state and US’s attempted control of Middle East oil.
The US has a relatively friendly Saudi dictatorship. And the ending of Iran sends a message to the Saudi king that he only remains king under US aegis.
US troops in Iraq and Syria with those countries recent memories of the Iraq invasion by the US. UAE, Kuwait & Qatar are puny and easily invadable.
Israel’s expansion to a Greater Israel nation state is a natural ally and a step pad for US troops if needed in the area.
That control of Middle East oil dwarfs what Russia has.
And within 10 to 20 years China & Russia will no longer be world powers as their nation’s population shrink in size.
Don’t think so. It only took the US a month, after 9/11 to invade Afghanistan, then a year and a half to fabricate an excuse to invade Iraq, which had nothing to do with 9/11.
If the US wanted to leverage 10/7, to overthrow the Iranian regime, the war would have started a long time ago. Of course, the US had it’s own regime change only 5 months ago, so the elapsed time to “shock and awe”, from inauguration day is not unreasonable. But, the narrative coming from the US regime has been negotiating another “arty deal”, to obtain a Nobel Prize.
Nope. I think this is “Bibi’s” doing. TIG is being pushed to find something else to use to win a Nobel.
She can not cave. There is nothing to that human being.
Israel or the US a tool of the other? How about allies who care about supporting democracy? Oh yeah any time we lose the debate and the vote there is no democracy.
The wolf, the wolf, THE WOLF!! Yawn.
Let’s win elections because we can do a lot better. Let’s give up the crap arguments.
Hypothetically speaking, would you find it as disgraceful and offensive if, say, the most powerful person in the world judged thousands of human beings as nothing?
There are lots of dirtbags who’ve served. I thank them for their service, but they’re still dirtbags. Serving in the military doesn’t autimatically make someone a good person.
It appears Iran was unable to impede the entry of US jets. Alternatively, in the light of Iran’s claims that it had removed nuclear assets from these sites ( the enriched uranium and perhaps the centrifuges), a much less likely but possible scenario is that Iran decided not to contest the entry since if their claims are correct, America would have wasted firepower on now-unimportant targets. Better to husband air defenses for more critical targets and to lull the Americans in a false sense of security. Note that, in a much-watch video below, Trita Parsi points out that Iran does not need large sites for its nuclear development program. It can distribute the activity across many locations.
Indian media has been reporting on the increasing damage that Iran’s daily and sometimes more than once a day bombings are inflicting. Despite Trump’s bluster about the need for Iran to return to the capitulation, um, negotiating, table, this action does not stop Iranian strikes, which look to be reaching the point of serious damage.
Israel has put itself in a PR conundrum by seeking regime change in Iran and depicting Iranian strikes as largely unsuccessful. But we know from the Washington Post as of 3 days ago that on then-current trajectories, Israel would run out of air defense missiles in 10 to 12 days. So Israel is already taking serious hits and is not far from being completely exposed to Iranian strikes. What then? The US is going to be under acute pressure to stop Israel’s pummeling.
US boots on the ground?
Israel has engaged in a protracted air campaign in Iran to achieve something no other country has ever done before: topple a government and eliminate its major military capability using airpower alone. Israel’s attempt to achieve these highly ambitious goals with an air campaign and sophisticated intelligence networks, but without the deployment of a ground army, has no modern precedent. The United States never succeeded in achieving such goals just through airstrikes during the massive strategic bombing campaigns of World War II, the Korean War, the Vietnam War, the Gulf War, etc
Israel will play the “victim” card, the way the US has, constantly, for the last 25 years.
Translation: no more US provided AA for Ukraine. Everything will go to “victim” Israel. Remember, Ukraine “started” the war with Russia, according to TIG.
