Page down goes to bottom

Hi, this didn’t used to happen, but now when I’m on a long webpage and press the page down button, it brings me to the very bottom of the page, instead of just one page. Going back up using the page up button does NOT go all the way up to the top, but just one page at a time.
Any ideas why this may have suddenly started happening?
Thanks

Hey RB, What web browser are you using? Have you tried another web browser to see if it happens in it also?

If it happens on both web browsers it is something in your operating system. Then we would need to know if you use Windows or Mac.

Thanks. I just tried it: It does NOT happen in MS Edge. So just Chrome I guess.
I’m using Windows 10

Ok let’s see if it is your extensions. See if it is one of them causing the problem.

Type chrome://extensions/

Into your address Bar of your Chrome browser and turn off all your extensions and then see if it is still doing it. You can turn them off by moving the button on the browser.

Nope, still doing it with all extensions off.
It’s not a huge deal. I’ll just live with it.
Thanks for trying.

RB we have to fix this. It’s mandatory now. Try this and see what happens. We will figure this out.

chrome://settings/system

Turn off graphic acceleration and see if that works.

No good. abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz

Ok try this. Go to the three vertical dots next to your profile. Hit settings, then hit reset settings.

I’m loath to reset all my settings. Then I’ll have to figure out how I want the settings again, no?

Yes but have you set any settings that are important? Maybe the font?

I don’t know what the relationship to this is, but ever since I did the suggestion below, all my password memorizations in the system have disappeared. I’m needing reenter them every time I login to a website. What could that have to do with turning off the graphic acceleration?

No RB they are not related. At least they shouldn’t be. One is stored on chrome servers the other interacts with your graphic card. Did you maybe clear your history? If you did a reset that would clear your passwords. Then you would have to reenter and save them.

All I did was the first two suggestions you made. I didn’t do the settings reset. Just the graphics card and turning off the extensions.
The issue happened immediately afterward, though, so it sure seems related. Odd.

I agree that is odd. Is one of your extensions a password manager?

No. But something we did really screwed me over. I have to spend a great deal of time calling my clients whose logins are no longer working. So I have to bother them, dealing with all the many logins.
That’s what I get for trying to fix a minor issue - creating major issues!

Happy Thanksgiving RB.

You too. But I think those two words would be too short to make it through. So I’m typing more, LOL!
Happy holidays.

Let’s find out where those passwords are. So if you are using Chrome password Manager try this.

Click the Three vertical dots next to your profile name.
Under your profile name it should say “Passwords and autofill” Click on that.
Then Click on Google Password Manager.
Do you see anything in there?

Stick with me RB I think we can figure this out.
