Yesterday, I updated my Calibre (database of e-Books) on my desktop for the first time in a couple of months and then I attempted to connect with Calibre Companion on my Android Samsung phone and it complained that it couldn’t connect because the directory which contained the books was read only. I can find the directory in question under Storage, but I see no way to alter the status. Ideas?
If your desktop is Mac I can help, Change the Permissions, bottom of the image. You might have to change the permissions of the folder that contains the file as well.

The desktop is Windows, but the read-only directory is on the Android phone.
Using something like that makes me a bit nervous … so I think I will wait to see if something more intrinsic comes up first.
