Same as Iraq. Same as every other foreign intervention undertaken by the US. But this time will be different…
You should not be doubting the Iranians.
Btw, I said Ukrainian is a genocidal war. You guys did not so much as agree.
Well, I did, over the last 4 years.
Yes
And you are generally the most balanced of Israel’s detractors. You are not giving preference to bashing Israel.
I couldn’t care less about the accusation, but the constant focus is like that of the Pope 130 years ago, “Jews drink the blood of young boys”. The words have changed, but the focus has not. Iran has 12 resolutions against it at the UN in the last decade, Israel has 174 resolutions all for drinking blood.
I had a young friend who was commandeered by NPR against Israel. Talking to him, I realized he sees only my fangs. He is being used by NPR whose accomplice is the Arab Nation. Some source the Arab Nation is. Shove the promotion of a racist free, homephobe free, and misogynist free world aside, now we have the only Jewish state to hate. Any of you think that is not anti semetic by design? Stop kidding yourselves, you are being used for hahas. The people using you want you dead. You are not Muslim enough. Neither are most Muslims Muslim enough for them.
Your rantings exude balance…thank you!
Avoiding reality won’t make it go away. You are being used.
Your source is Hamas and the other Arab Nationalists stating it is a genocide. Make that disappear. You can’t.
Whether you like or not your comments on genocide come from people who hate all people who are not Muslim enough for them. The target for now is Jews. You are in there pitching for them. You think I am happy about that? Really? You think I need to dance around your feelings? You are being used. Deal with it honestly.
When I make a mistake I admit it in public. The messanger is not the problem.
Actually, that was true when we invaded Iraq in 2003. Iraq’s birth rate has been on a frenzy since then, Iran not so much. However, the analogy holds true. The only path for regime change is domestic. A land invasion by the Untied States would completely moblize the nation around the current Government.
Yes that is true.
But killing the government and walking away would be wanted by most Iranians.
The Persians can govern themselves.
In fact they have shown that they will insist on that, and although welcoming an end to the blood sucking mafia like militia/dottering theocracy that now rules, would be extremely opposed to living under some USAian empirium.
David,
I am a progressive. I am far more progressive than many other progressives who took up speaking for Hamas and forgot about misogyny, racism, and homophobia as a protest. I talk about very high tax rates as a labor candidate in the UK would to industrialize, when those here do not want factories.
I will vote for those bums, and they will do what I am talking about, but the highly educated progressives are dumbing themselves down considerably. Assuming going to college means something is wrong. Predicating that things are anti zionism is wrong. The Arab Nationalists talk about Zionism in English, but talk about killing all Jews in Arabic. The Arabs are scared of them. Most of their victims are Muslims.
The progressives need a foreign policy that does not give away the store in the name of a college education.
Iran is the seventeenth largest country in the world, with a land mass equivalent to the size of Western Europe. It has a population of almost 90 million — 10 times greater than Israel — and its military resources, as well as alliances with China and Russia, make it a formidable opponent.
Despite Iran’s relative military weakness, when set against the combined forces of the U.S. and Israel, it can inflict a lot of damage. It will do this as swiftly as possible.
Hundreds of American troops will likely be killed. Iran will certainly shut down the Strait of Hormuz, the world’s most important oil chokepoint that facilitates the passage of 20 percent of the world’s oil supply.
This will double or triple the price of oil and devastate the global economy. It will target oil installations along with U.S. ships and military bases in the region.
A hint of bias?
Reason enough to ignore the article and the foolish thread.
The Captain
Iran will likely hit bases in the Middle East and try to sink a carrier.
They will definitely do their best to shut down the Strait of Hormuz.
Hopefully the president consider the above in his calculation for another Iran attack.
Like they did last year?
DB2
l don’t believe any carriers were involved the first US attack. Just USAF b2 bombers and tomahawk missiles from US subs.
And it was a surprise attack, That element is now gone.
Even though surprised. Iran penetrated Israel’s Iron Dome and took out an Israeli military intelligence HQ.
Iran has announced their response to another attack. A severe serious response.
Likely a second attack will result in more US-Israeli casualties.
.We should remember the lesson of the Vietnam War. The US never lost a battle but lost the war when too many casualties were incurred.
The United States, we lost our soul. We tried to wage war with a compulsory draft. We tried to wage a war that was un-winnable and our leaders sent tens-of-thousands of young men to their death knowing that it was pure worthless sacrifice. When Daniel Ellsberg finally released the truth from inside The Pentagon, years and years of detailed reports that concluded that the War in Vietnam was a mistake and impossible to win, servicemen continued in combat.
We lost that war before 1962.
